Zaprezentowane zostały definicje dokumentu i fałszerstwa oraz podjęta została próba przedstawienia aktualnych kierunków rozwoju przestępczości w obszarze IT.

Resting state FMRI: A tool to investigate functional connectivity modulation induced by transcranial direct current stimulation of the motor network

2016

Introduction: Resting-state functional connectivity (fcMRI) represents a novel fMRI approach that allows detection of temporal correlations in spontaneous BOLD signal oscillations while subjects rest quietly in the scanner. Under resting conditions the brain is engaged in spontaneous activity that causes a low frequencies (<0.1 Hz) BOLD signal fluctuations. Functional connectivity (FC) can be defined as the synchrony of neural activity among spatially distant regions. Transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) is a non-invasive brain stimulation technique that is known to modulate cortical activity and FC among brain regions, as measured by functional magnetic resonance imaging. This st…

Towards a Dual-mode Adaptive MAC Protocol (DMA-MAC) for Feedback-based Networked Control Systems

2014

Abstract Automated control systems play an important part in many industrial domains and the medium used for communication between devices in these systems is in transition from wired to wireless for cost reasons. Control systems have strict requirements on delay, throughput, and reliability, that vary with time during operation. Addressing these requirements requires predictable and robust protocols to be employed, and they must be adaptive to the varying states of the controlled process. In this article, we propose a dual-mode adaptive medium access control protocol that caters for two main operation modes in control systems: the steady mode operation, and the transient mode operation. We…

GW170814: A Three-Detector Observation of Gravitational Waves from a Binary Black Hole Coalescence

2017

On August 14, 2017 at 10 30:43 UTC, the Advanced Virgo detector and the two Advanced LIGO detectors coherently observed a transient gravitational-wave signal produced by the coalescence of two stellar mass black holes, with a false-alarm rate of 1 in 27 000 years. The signal was observed with a three-detector network matched-filter signal-to-noise ratio of 18. The inferred masses of the initial black holes are 30.5-3.0+5.7M and 25.3-4.2+2.8M (at the 90% credible level). The luminosity distance of the source is 540-210+130 Mpc, corresponding to a redshift of z=0.11-0.04+0.03. A network of three detectors improves the sky localization of the source, reducing the area of the 90% credible regio…

FUNCTIONAL CONNECTIVITY MODULATION INDUCED BY TRANSCRANIAL DIRECT CURRENT STIMULATION OF THE MOTOR NETWORK

2015

Background: Brain functions arise from the orchestrated activation and cooperation of networks of regions whose specific relationship varies dynamically across functional states. Resting state functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (RS-fMRI) analyses focuses on spontaneous low frequency fluctuations (< 0.1 Hz) in the BOLD signal and investigates synchronous activations between regions that are spatially distinct (functional connectivity, FC), occurring in the absence of a task or stimulus. Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS) is a non-invasive brain stimulation technique that is known to modulate cortical activity and FC among brain regions, as measured by functional Magnetic Reson…

Inverse problems and invisibility cloaking for FEM models and resistor networks

2013

In this paper we consider inverse problems for resistor networks and for models obtained via the finite element method (FEM) for the conductivity equation. These correspond to discrete versions of the inverse conductivity problem of Calderón. We characterize FEM models corresponding to a given triangulation of the domain that are equivalent to certain resistor networks, and apply the results to study nonuniqueness of the discrete inverse problem. It turns out that the degree of nonuniqueness for the discrete problem is larger than the one for the partial differential equation. We also study invisibility cloaking for FEM models, and show how an arbitrary body can be surrounded with a layer …

Ambulatory Treatment and Telemonitoring of Patients with Parkinson’s Disease

2011

Body sensor networks (BSN) promise to enhance quality of life in common human habitats. The very next and natural step towards the improvement of the already valuable applications based on BSN is the incorporation of body actuator devices which adapt its actuation dynamically based on the information provided by the body sensors, thus forming Body Sensor and actuator Networks (BS&AN). This paper shows how BS&AN can be exploited to create an innovative system to support the treatment of patients affected by Parkinson’s Disease (PD). The combination of clinical and technological knowledge in BS&AN allows to significantly improve the quality of life of patients suffering from PD.

Resting State EEG Directed Functional Connectivity Unveils Changes in Motor Network Organization in Subacute Stroke Patients After Rehabilitation

2022

Brain plasticity and functional reorganization are mechanisms behind functional motor recovery of patients after an ischemic stroke. The study of resting-state motor network functional connectivity by means of EEG proved to be useful in investigating changes occurring in the information flow and find correlation with motor function recovery. In the literature, most studies applying EEG to post-stroke patients investigated the undirected functional connectivity of interacting brain regions. Quite recently, works started to investigate the directionality of the connections and many approaches or features have been proposed, each of them being more suitable to describe different aspects, e.g.,…

Path-dependencies, constrained transformations and dynamic agency. An accounting case study informed by both ANT and NIS

2013

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to discuss the compatibility of actor network theory (ANT) and new institutional sociology (NIS) in analysing a case study of accounting change. Design/methodology/approach – This is an interpretive case study. Findings – The Finnish case city experienced several path-dependent changes concerning performance measurement (PM), financial reporting and the adoption of enterprise resource planning system (ERP). New tools such as the ERP have a potential to transform the actors and to change the agency of the actors. Furthermore, the concepts drawing on both ANT and NIS can together enrich analyses of accounting changes. Research limitations/implications – …
