Attitudes Toward Professional Foreign Players in Finnish Amateur Basketball

The use of foreign professional players may influence the host country's sport culture. To determine the attitudes toward foreign professionals in various Finnish amateur basketball leagues, all clubs (n = 55) playing basketball in the three highest Finnish leagues were interviewed by mailed questionnaire. The results indicated that recruitment of foreign pros was held to effect negatively the team spirit and the play tactics, the economics of the club, the development of other sport branches in the club and the success of the national team. In this paper the design, realization and testing of a photovoltaic charging system suitable for the management of an electrically power assisted tricycle are described. This vehicle uses a photovoltaic module as a source of electric energy for the battery recharging. In this work, an overview on the needs of sustainable mobility and on the commercial electrically power assisted velocipedes is presented. This paper is informed by an interpretative framework in which the theoretical paradigms of Cultural, Gender, (Post-)colonial and Tourism studies are interwoven. It is claimed that fostering a specific kind of literary and cultural tourism, centred on (post-)colonial authors’ works, might emerge as a political practice able to reshape the self-fashioning of Western European cultural heritage in non-essentialized terms.
