Labour Market Policies and Recruitment in Europe and Italy
2017
Over the last few years, most studies and labour market policies have focused on the competence of people seeking employment. Few studies have tackled the issue from the point of view of employers and how policy might affect the personnel recruitment. The aim of this article is to try to understand the impact of labour policy on the processes involved in seeking personnel, with specific reference to business organizations. After examining the strategic, organisational and environmental variables that affect the personnel recruitment, the study focuses on analysing active and passive labour policies in Europe and Italy. The results that emerge highlight the fact that labour policy affects ce…

HACD1, a regulator of membrane composition and fluidity, promotes myoblast fusion and skeletal muscle growth
2015
International audience; The reduced diameter of skeletal myofibres is a hallmark of several congenital myopathies, yet the underlying cellular and molecular mechanisms remain elusive. In this study, we investigate the role of HACD1/PTPLA, which is involved in the elongation of the very long chain fatty acids, in muscle fibre formation. In humans and dogs, HACD1 deficiency leads to a congenital myopathy with fibre size disproportion associated with a generalized muscle weakness. Through analysis of HACD1-deficient Labradors, Hacd1-knockout mice, and Hacd1-deficient myoblasts, we provide evidence that HACD1 promotes myoblast fusion during muscle development and regeneration. We further demons…

Design and Implementation of Density Sensor for Liquids Using Fiber Bragg Grating Sensor
2022
In this paper, an optical fiber sensor based density sensor is proposed and demonstrated experimentally. The sensor is formed by fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensor. The proposed sensor design is very simple and versatile for density measurements of liquids. The FBG strain sensor has one end mounted to a 3D printed rigid support, and the other end connected to a 3D manufactured clamp in this sensor design. A metal ball is suspended from this clamp by a non-stretchable cord. When it is completely immersed in liquid, the liquid buoyancy force acts on it. As a result, the strain in FBG varies depending on the force applied to the ball. This results in a wavelength shift in the FBG sensor. The pro…
Value creation in mobile tourism services : evaluating the value creation concerns of the Norwegian MOVE project
2007
Sammendrag på norsk og engelsk. The report presents the results of the evaluation activity specified as part of the MOVE project, a three year innovation project funded by the Research Council of Norway and seven industry and university partners. The aim of this project has been to establish a location-based electronic marketplace, offering mobile tourism services. Several pilot services including a map-based interface providing tourist guide functionality to the mobile handset, a web based tool for service providers’ registration of points of interest (POI), and two “infotainment” services (picture puzzle and riddle) has been developed. The Lofoten area was chosen as the target region for …

Peer to Consumer Lending
2022
Peer to consumer lending represents an alternative form of financing characterized, within the crowdfunding genus, by the collecting of credit offers to be matched with borrowing demand through a digital platform. The essay focuses on legal analysis of some aspects of the structure and the functioning of lending marketplaces operating in the sector at stake. The Author argues how this business model – especially when the phenomenon involves consumers and, more generally, non-professionals counterparts – may be critical as regards to the classical cathegories and concepts ruling the lending/borrowing discourse.
