Our study aimed to evaluate the characteristics of nursing environments in primary care settings in the Canary Islands, and identify crucial components of such environments to improve quality. METHOD: We conducted a cross-sectional study in primary care organisations using the Practice Environment Scale - Nursing Work Index tool. Purpose To present the 4-year follow-up results in the surgical treatment of hypotony following trabeculectomy with mitomycin C in glaucoma patients with additional flap sutures. Design Retrospective interventional case series. Methods Since 2006, 53 patients with hypotony maculopathy attributable to overfiltration following glaucoma surgery (trabeculectomy with mitomycin C) were included in this institutional study. Background The aim of this study was to estimate accident risk rates and mental health of bus rapid transit (BRT) drivers based on psychosocial risk factors at work leading to increased stress and health problems. Methods A cross-sectional research design utilized a self-report questionnaire completed by 524 BRT drivers. Results Some working conditions of BRT drivers (lack of social support from supervisors and perceived potential for risk) may partially explain Bogota's BRT drivers' involvement in road accidents. When measuring fixation disparity (an oculomotor vergence error), the question arises as to whether a monocular or binocular calibration is more precise and physiologically more appropriate. In monocular calibrations, a single eye fixates on a calibration target that is taken as having been projected onto the center of the fovea; the corresponding vergence state represents the heterophoria (the resting vergence position), which has no effect on the calibration procedure. We report a case of a rare complication after trabeculotomy combined with a small trabeculectomy with mitomycin C in a young patient with juvenile glaucoma. The patient underwent uneventful surgery. However, postoperatively, he experienced a long-lasting hypotony with the need of 2 revision surgeries and 2 short episodes of high-intraocular pressure. He developed a fixed dilated pupil over time.
