MuPix and ATLASPix -- Architectures and Results

High Voltage Monolithic Active Pixel Sensors (HV-MAPS) are based on a commercial High Voltage CMOS process and collect charge by drift inside a reversely biased diode. HV-MAPS represent a promising technology for future pixel tracking detectors. Two recent developments are presented. The MuPix has a continuous readout and is being developed for the Mu3e experiment whereas the ATLASPix is being developed for LHC applications with a triggered readout. Eye tracking and the translation process: reflections on the analysis and interpretation of eye-tracking data

Eye tracking has become increasingly popular as a quantitative research method in translation research. This paper discusses some of the major methodological issues involved in the use of eye tracking in translation research. It focuses specifically on challenges in the analysis and interpretation of eye-tracking data as reflections of cognitive processes during translation. Interaction Control of Robotic Manipulators Without Force Measurement

This paper deals with a new adaptive force-position control of a robotic manipulator based on force estimation. Based on Lyapunov techniques will be proved that the control law guaranties tracking of the desired Cartesian trajectory along the contact plane and of a constant desired force along reciprocal direction, without force measuring. Extensive simulations with 2-DOF manipulator illustrates the followed approach.

Hierarchical fuzzy/Lyapunov control for horizontal plane trajectory tracking of underactuated AUV

A new hierarchical closed loop fuzzy control system for horizontal plane trajectory tracking of underactuated Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUV) is presented. A model for the AUV is formulated introducing a polar coordinates transformation for the velocities in the body fixed frame. It is employed to control the unactuated sway direction, the longitudinal position and the yaw by using the surge force and the yaw torque only. The highest level control is developed by employing a fuzzy inference system for obtaining the guidance control laws. Adaptive predictor control for stabilizing pressure in a managed pressure drilling system under time-delay

Abstract In this paper, we address adaptive predictor feedback design for a simplified ODE drilling system in the presence of unknown parameter, disturbance and time-delay. The main objective is to stabilize the bottomhole pressure at a critical depth at a desired set-point directly. The time-delay in the transmission line of the drilling systems is considered. The stabilization of the dynamic system and the asymptotic tracking are demonstrated by the proposed predictor control, where the adaptation employs Lyapunov update law design with normalization. [EN] In this Technical Design Report (TDR) we describe the NEXT-100 detector that will search for neutrinoless double beta decay (ßß0v) in 136XE at the Laboratorio Subterráneo de Canfranc (LSC), in Spain. The document formalizes the design presented in our Conceptual Design Report (CDR): an electroluminescence time projection chamber, with separate readout planes for calorimetry and tracking, located, respectively, behind cathode and anode. The detector is designed to hold a maximum of about 150 kg of xenon at 15 bar, or 100 kg at 10 bar. Bi- and uniciliated ependymal cells define continuous floor-plate-derived tanycytic territories

Multiciliated ependymal (E1) cells line the brain ventricles and are essential for brain homeostasis. We previously identified in the lateral ventricles a rare ependymal subpopulation (E2) with only two cilia and unique basal bodies. Here we show that E2 cells form a distinct biciliated epithelium extending along the ventral third into the fourth ventricle. In the third ventricle floor, apical profiles with only primary cilia define an additional uniciliated (E3) epithelium. E2 and E3 cells' ultrastructure, marker expression and basal processes indicate that they correspond to subtypes of tanycytes.
