Personības iezīmes un emociju regulācijas grūtības kā uztvertā stresa prognozētājas

2022

Pētījuma mērķis bija noskaidrot kāda saistība pastāv starp uztverto stresu, personības iezīmēm un emociju regulācijas grūtībām, un pārbaudīt cik lielā mērā personības iezīmes un emociju regulācijas grūtības prognozē uztvertā stresa līmeņa rādītājus, kā arī pārbaudīt cik lielā mērā personības iezīmes prognozē emociju regulācijas grūtību kopīgo rādītāju. Pētījumā piedalījās 65 respondenti, 58 sievietes un 7 vīrieši, vecumā no 19 līdz 74 gadiem (M=34,82; SD=31,00). Pētījumā tika izmantotas 3 aptaujas: Lielā piecinieka personības aptauja, Emociju regulācijas grūtību skala un Uztvertā stresa skala. Pētījumā iegūtie rezultāti norāda, ka augstāki neirotisma rādītāji ir statistiski nozīmīgi saistīt…

Emocionālās ēšanas, uztvertā stresa un ēšanas pārliecību saistības sievietēm

2021

Pētījuma mērķis bija noskaidrot, kādas saistības pastāv starp emocionālās ēšanas, ķermeņa masas indeksa (ĶMI), vecuma, uztvertā stresa un ēšanas pārliecību rādītājiem sievietēm. Kā arī noskaidrot, kuri no uztvertā stresa, ēšanas pārliecību dimensijas un ĶMI rādītājiem statistiski nozīmīgi paredz emocionālās ēšanas rādītājus un kuras no ēšanas pārliecībām statistiski nozīmīgi paredz augstāku ĶMI sieviešu izlasē. Pētījumā piedalījās 192 sievietes vecuma grupā no 18 līdz 66 gadiem ar normālu ĶMI (ĶMI ≤ 25). Pētījumā izmantotas Emocionālās ēšanas aptauja (Emotional Eating Scale (EES), Arnow, Kenardy, & Agras, 1995), Uztvertā stresa skala (Perceived Stress Scale (PSS), Cohen, Kamarck, & Mermelst…

Deconstructing and reconstructing resilience: a dynamic network approach

2019

Resilience is still often viewed as a unitary personality construct that, as a kind of anti-nosological entity, protects individuals against stress-related mental problems. However, increasing evidence indicates that the maintenance of mental health in the face of adversity results from complex and dynamic processes of adaptation to stressors that involve the activation of several separable protective factors. Such resilience factors can reside at biological, psychological and social levels and may include stable predispositions (such as genotype or personality traits) and malleable properties, skills, capacities or external circumstances (such as gene expression patterns, emotion regulatio…

The Dictionnaire de Littérature of Sabatier de Castres (1770) is considered the first work to have made use of the syntagm "dictionary of literature". The innovative aspect of this works is, howe…

End-of-Life Care in High-Grade Glioma Patients. The Palliative and Supportive Perspective.

2018

High-grade gliomas (HGGs) are the most frequently diagnosed primary brain tumors. Even though it has been demonstrated that combined surgical therapy, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy improve survival, HGGs still harbor a very poor prognosis and limited overall survival. Differently from other types of primary neoplasm, HGG manifests also as a neurological disease. According to this, palliative care of HGG patients represents a peculiar challenge for healthcare providers and caregivers since it has to be directed to both general and neurological cancer symptoms. In this way, the end-of-life (EOL) phase of HGG patients appears to be like a journey through medical issues, progressive neurologic…

The Epigenetics of the Endocannabinoid System

2020

The endocannabinoid system (ES) is a cell-signalling system widely distributed in biological tissues that includes endogenous ligands, receptors, and biosynthetic and hydrolysing machineries. The impairment of the ES has been associated to several pathological conditions like behavioural, neurological, or metabolic disorders and infertility, suggesting that the modulation of this system may be critical for the maintenance of health status and disease treatment. Lifestyle and environmental factors can exert long-term effects on gene expression without any change in the nucleotide sequence of DNA, affecting health maintenance and influencing both disease load and resistance. This potentially …
