High-quality superconducting titanium nitride thin film growth using infra-red pulsed laser deposition

Superconducting titanium nitride (TiN) thin films were deposited on magnesium oxide, sapphire and silicon nitride substrates at 700 °C, using a pulsed laser deposition (PLD) technique, where infrared (1064 nm) pulses from a solid-state laser were used for the ablation from a titanium target in a nitrogen atmosphere. Structural studies performed with x-ray diffraction showed the best epitaxial crystallinity for films deposited on MgO. In the best films, superconducting transition temperatures, T C, as high as 4.8 K were observed, higher than in most previous superconducting TiN thin films deposited with reactive sputtering. Carbon Nitride-Based Catalysts for High Pressure CO2 Photoreduction

In the current research, the productivity of CO2 photoreduction has been boosted by performing the reaction in an innovative photocatalytic reactor, which allows for operation up to 20 bar. A set of photocatalysts were used, including three types of pristine TiO2, i.e., one commercially prepared (Evonik P25), one home-prepared by flame spray pyrolysis (FSP), and one obtained by the hydrolysis of TiCl4 (TiO2exCl), a bare thermo-exfoliated carbon nitride (C3N4-TE), and binary materials composed of TiO2 and C3N4-TE. Tutkimukseni tarkoituksena oli selvittää, kuinka joulua ja jouluperinteitä kuvataan Astrid Lindgrenin lastenkirjoissa ja tutkia minkälaisia yhtäläisyyksiä ja eroavuuksia löytyy kirjojen kuvauksen ja todellisen ruotsalaisen joulunvieton välillä. Näin ollen tutkielmassani verrattiin joulukuvausta sekä Lindgrenin lastenkirjojen välillä että Lindgrenin lastenkirjojen ja todelliseen ruotsalaiseen joulunviettoon pohjautuvien kirjojen välillä. Lindgrenin tuotanto on minulle hyvin tuttua, sillä monien muiden pohjoismaisten lasten tapaan, olen itsekin kasvanut hänen satujaan lukien. Primary immunodeficiencies (PIDs) are rare genetic diseases characterized by susceptibility to infections, increased risk of autoimmunity, hypogammaglobulinemia, and lymphoproliferative syndromes. PIDs are associated to genetic alterations in about 400 known genes, among which, mutations of the LRBA gene. LRBA gene encodes a widely expressed multi-domain protein with highly conserved BEACH domain, involved in regulation of endosomal trafficking, particularly endocytosis of ligand-activated receptors. Dioxomolybdenum(VI) and -Tungsten(VI) Amino Bisphenolates as Epoxidation Catalysts

Low-cost metallate salts Na2MO4·2H2O (M = molybdenum, tungsten) react with a tridentate amine bisphenol bis(2-hydroxy-3-tert-butyl-5-methylbenzyl)methylamine (H2ONOtBu) under ambient conditions in acidic methanol solutions. The reactions lead to the formation of isostructural dioxo complexes [MO2(ONOtBu)(MeOH)]·MeOH in convenient yields. Spectral data as well as X-ray analyses reveal these complexes to be isostructural. Both compounds were tested as catalysts for epoxidation of olefins using cis-cyclooctene, cyclohexene, norbornene and styrene as substrates and tert-butyl hydroperoxide and hydrogen peroxide as oxidants. En este trabajo se han desarrollado varias aplicaciones, empleando técnicas de multiplexado, dentro de los campos del procesado óptico de imágenes y del reconocimiento óptico de objetos. En concreto, empleando el multiplexado en longitud de onda como técnica que permite aumentar el caudal de información que se puede transmitir a través de un sistema óptico, hemos extendido las capacidades de reconocimiento de un correlador óptico iluminado con luz blanca al caso de la invariancia a escala del objeto de referencia hasta una relación de escalas de 2:1.
