Simulators for sea surface waves are useful for many practical applications, such as the construction of offshore structures and ocean surface animations. This paper studies three methods for the design of one-dimensional sea surface waves simulators with given wave spectra using the sum-of-sinusoids (SOS) principle. The wave spectrum provides insight into important statistical properties of the sea surface waves, such as the autocorrelation function (ACF) of the sea surface waves, significant wave height, and the moments of the spectrum. We show that the measured intrinsic octupole moments of $^{220}\mathrm{Rn}$, $^{224}\mathrm{Ra}$, and $^{226}\mathrm{Ra}$ constrain the intrinsic Schiff moments of $^{225}\mathrm{Ra}$, $^{221}\mathrm{Rn}$, $^{223}\mathrm{Rn}$, $^{223}\mathrm{Fr}$, $^{225}\mathrm{Ra}$, and $^{229}\mathrm{Pa}$. The result is a dramatically reduced uncertainty in intrinsic Schiff moments. Direct measurements of octupole moments in odd nuclei will reduce the uncertainty even more. The only significant source of nuclear-physics error in the laboratory Schiff moments will then be the intrinsic matrix elements of the time-reversal noninvariant interaction produced by $CP$-violating fundamental physics. Polyphasic Characterization of Microbiota of “Mastredda”, a Traditional Wooden Tool Used during the Production of PDO Provola dei Nebrodi Cheese

The biofilms of the wooden tables used for the acidification of the curd were investigated for PDO Provola dei Nebrodi cheese, a traditional stretched cheese made in eastern Sicily (southern Italy) from raw cows’ milk. To this purpose the wooden tables of four dairy facilities were analysed for their microbiota by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis and a combined culture-independent and -dependent microbiological approach. SEM inspection showed an almost continuous biofilm formation. MiSeq Illumina analysis identified 8 phyla, 16 classes, 25 orders, 47 families and 50 genera. We present a new calculation of the well-known one-loop two-point scalar and tensor functions. We also present a systematic reduction to a certain class of functions which minimizes the effort for calculating tensor integrals drastically. We avoid standard techniques such as Feynman parametrization and Wick rotation.
