Bakalaura darbā “Soda piemērošana nepilngadīgajiem” autore pamatā pēta tradicionālo kriminālo justīciju Latvijas regulējumā un ārvalstu regulējumā, īpašu uzmanību pievēršot Latvijas tiesu praksei. Temats ir aktuāls, jo gan Latvijā, gan citās valstīs tiek veiktas izmaiņas nacionālajos regulējumos. Izmaiņas regulējumā tiek veiktas, lai nodrošinātu nepilngadīgo interešu aizsardzību, kas balstīta uz resocializācijas procesu. Bakalaura darba temats “Kriminālsodi nepilngadīgajiem un to mērķis’’ ir aktuāls, jo no 2022. gada 1. janvāra stāsies spēkā 2020. gada 17. decembra “Krimināllikuma Grozījumi’’. “Krimināllikuma Grozījumos” tiek noteikti konkrēti kriminālsodi nepilngadīgajiem. Tiek noteikts, ka pirms konkrētā kriminālsoda piemērošanas ir jāskatās kriminālsoda mērķis, kas ir noteikts Krimināllikuma 35.panta otrajā daļā, bet Krimināllikuma 64. panta trešajā daļā ir noteikts, ka primāra ir nepilngadīgā resocializācija. 'We have a solution': Delivering on the promise to take national responsibility for nuclear waste management

We examine the realization of the umbrella promise to assume national responsibility for the final disposal of spent nuclear fuel. Three case studies are used to illustrate how Finland delivers on the promise to take care of its own nuclear waste - a promise that has greatly contributed to the legitimacy of nuclear power in Finland. The article shows how this promise is being challenged by new competitors, business visionaries, and the public. The case studies illustrate the tensions between those who made the promise and the actors who interpret and mobilize the promise for varying purposes and under changing circumstances. Software Complexity and Organization of Firms’ Offshoring Activities

How does software complexity shape software providers’ offshoring tasks, and how do such firms organize their offshoring activity? These questions are important, since the global software development market is growing rapidly, offering new opportunities for software managers and entrepreneurs to distribute their activities geographically. Based on a multi-site case study of 12 software firms, we study connections between software complexity and the offshoring strategies selected. Our findings suggest that software firms select a variety of organizational structures for their offshoring activity, and that the selection is shaped by the complexity of the software in question. peerReviewed
Great expectations: Learning the boundaries of design rights

We present a case study of an increase in design right filings and concurrent design right litigations in an industry that previously had little experience of design right protection. The motives for and outcomes of filing, and how these changed over time are discussed. We go on to explore the events, which offered the decision makers opportunities to update their beliefs about the scope of design right protection. We find that filing motives changed from specific protection goals to freedom to operate over time. We also find that the actors faced several, but sometimes contradictory, learning opportunities.
