One hundred and twenty six samples of fresh pork sausages were analysed-for the presence of verocytotoxigenic Escherichia coli (VTEC). Selective enrichment followed by DNA extraction and PCR amplification of the stx1 and stx2 genes highlighted the occurrence of the above mentioned genes in 20 out of 126 samples screened. From the stx positive enriched cultures, isolation was performed on CT-SMAC agar plates after immuno-magnetic separation of E. coli O157. Fifty three non-sorbitol fermenting isolates were obtained and further characterised, along with the reference strain E. coli ATCC 35150(T). Introducción: Estudio piloto que determina el diagnóstico de sarcopenia mediante tomografía computarizada (TC) a nivel de la tercera vértebra cervical (C3) y dinamometría en pacientes con cáncer de cabeza y cuello. AbstractEleven trace elements (Ba, Cu, Fe, Mn, Ni, Pb, Rb, Se, Sr, V, Zn) were quantitatively determined in hen egg samples collected from different poultry housing types (large-scale poultry farms, organic farms and domestic farms) over the territory of Latvia. Samples were wet digested and quantitatively analysed by total reflection X-ray fluorescence spectrometry (TXRF). The glycaemic index (GI) is a food metric that ranks the acute impact of available (digestible) carbohydrates on blood glucose. At present, few countries regulate the inclusion of GI on food labels even though the information may assist consumers to manage blood glucose levels. Australia and New Zealand regulate GI claims as nutrition content claims and also recognize the GI Foundation’s certified Low GI trademark as an endorsement. Introducción: Los pacientes sometidos a Trasplante de Células Madre Hematopoyéticas o trasplante de médula padecen varias complicaciones nutricionales. El objetivo del estudio fue realizar una descripción prospectiva en estos pacientes.Material y métodos: Se reclutaron 14 pacientes con una edad media de 48,0±9,8 años. Resultados: El 28,6% padecía sobrepeso, el 14,3% obesidad y el 57,1% tenía un peso normal, con una evoluciónentre -0,3±0,3 kg/m2 (normopeso) hasta -3,1±0,2 kg/m2 (obesidad). The publication of the Normes ortográfiques de l'IEC (1913) and its adoption in the entire linguistic region in 1932 in the Valencian Country with the so-called Normes de Castelló was the result of a process in which differing spelling norms had to be standardized. The author examines in detail the norms used in several popular and dialectic magazines published in Barcelona (La Esquella de la Torratxa), Valencia (El Micalet de Valensia) and Palma de Majorca (En Figuera).
