Phenoloxidases occur in almost all organisms, being essentially involved in various processes such as the immune response, wound healing, pigmentation and sclerotization in arthropods. Many hemocyanins are also capable of phenoloxidase activity after activation. Notably, in chelicerates, a phenoloxidase has not been identified in the hemolymph, and thus hemocyanin is assumed to be the physiological phenoloxidase in these animals. Saint Agnes of Rome, the Pope and the “Purpuresque Pavo”: Memory Issues of the Apse Mosaic of Santa Agnese fuori le mura (625-638)

The theme of memory is at the heart of apse mosaic of Santa Agnese fuori le mura. It’s a visual discourse about a roman martyr linked to the founder of new basilica and the “purpuresque pavo”. With the offering of this mosaics, the pope Honorius honours Saint Agnes’s memory. Honorius reaches to blend in a complex system of commemoration. Some close links are forged between the pope and the roman martyr. A true locus memoriae was established on the Via Nomentana since the middle of the IVth century. Abstract The digestion methods for the determination of As, Cd, Cr, Pb, Sb, Sn and Zn concentrations in plastic samples using microwave-assisted digestion (MW-AD) and small-size autoclave digestion was developed. The certified polyethylene, polypropylene, polyvinyl chloride and acrylonitrile butadiene styrene certified reference materials were used in order to find digestion method working properly for several sample matrices. Efficiency of the digestion methods was evaluated by analyzing the residual carbon in digests by TOC analyzer. Abstract Methotrexate (MTX), an antimetabolite of folic acid, is a drug widely used in the treatment of different types of cancer. When high doses are administered, it is necessary to interrupt its action by administering calcium leucovorin (CaL). The main pathway of MTX and CaL elimination in humans occurs through the kidney, but about 10% is excreted in the faeces via the bile. Drugs, foods and sorbents in intestinal lumen modify MTX and CaL reabsorption. Diels–Alder reaction of β-fluoro-β-nitrostyrenes with cyclic dienes

The Diels–Alder reaction of β-fluoro-β-nitrostyrenes with cyclic 1,3-dienes was investigated. A series of novel monofluorinated norbornenes was prepared in up to 97% yield. The reaction with 1,3-cyclohexadiene permits the preparation of monofluorinated bicyclo[2.2.2]oct-2-enes. The kinetic data of the reactions with 1,3-cyclopentadiene and 1,3-cyclohexadiene were used to calculate activation parameters. Furthermore, the synthetic utility of the cycloadducts obtained was demonstrated.

Dokonano analizy możliwości wykorzystania odpadów z szyb samochodowych klejonych oraz bezpiecznego szkła budowlanego z folią PVB. Aktualnie najczęściej stosowaną folią w szkle klejonym jest folia poliwinylobutyralu (PVB). Niniejsza praca przedstawia analizę możliwości odzyskania surowców w postaci folii PVB i szkła z odpadów szyb klejonych. Analizowana metoda polega na rozpuszczeniu folii PVB oraz separacji folii od kawałków szkła. Przedstawiono również możliwości zastosowania rozpuszczonej folii PVB, a szkła jako wsadu surowcowego w hutach szkła.
