Neste trabalho apresentam-se os primeiros contextos bem caracterizados da fase inicial da ocupação da Idade do Ferro na Colina do Castelo de São Jorge, em Lisboa (Portugal). Escavações arqueológicas realizadas nesta área urbana permitiram, pela primeira vez, detectar uma sequência clara da ocupação da fase Orientalizante da cidade, que se inicia durante o século VII e se prolonga até ao século V a.C. Os vestígios estratigráficos, arquitectónicos e o espólio recolhido, que integra sobretudo ânforas, produções cinzentas, de engobe vermelho, vasos de fabrico manual e cerâmica comum e pintada, são analisados com detalhe, revelando o profundo carácter orientalizante das populações que se instala…

Since its inauguration in 1979, the Tagus-Segura Aqueduct has become one of the hydraulic infrastructures that have given rise to the highest number of inter-regional conflicts in Spain during recent decades. The aim of this paper is to analyse the political, social, environmental and economic conflicts presented in the donor (Tagus) and recipient (Segura) basins of this infrastructure. Miocene lithological, foraminiferal and palynological data from the Belverde borehole (Portugal)

XVIII Jornadas de Paleontología, 2002 Preliminary data on litho stratigraphy and biostratigraphy of the Belverde borehole (http://www. dct.Jct.unl.pt/ SondagemISondagem/colunalindex_col.html) is presented. The borehole attained 619,77 m of depth, crossing 130 m of Plio-Pleistocene and 460 m of Miocene dep osits. Main lithologies are fine sands , marl s and biocalcarenites. A coral reef was recognized in the lower part of the borehole (530-585 m). Gamma ray, neutrons and sonic diagraphies were obtained. Eight 87Sr/86Sr isotopic ages (H.
