Motor skills of young adults with Asperger syndrome: A comparative study

Motor skill difficulties are mentioned as a common feature of Asperger syndrome (AS) but specific information regarding young adults is scarce. The purposes of this study were: to compare the motor skills of young adults with AS with age and gender matched controls using the updated version of the standardized Movement Assessment battery for children (M-ABC-II), and to compare the motor skills between younger and older participants within both groups (index and control group). This article examines how Finnish universities and other higher education institutes have responded to the challenges posed by rapid changes in the world of work and societies all over Europe, particularly with reference to the development of generic skills. The data were collected by means of individual and group interviews at three Finnish higher education institutes, including two universities and one university of applied sciences. The interviews involved 63 persons in charge of management, development and teaching at these institutes. Tutkielma käsittelee IT-projektipäälliköiden taitoja työnantajan näkökulmasta. Tutkielman tarkoituksena on selvittää IT-projektipäällikön tärkeimpien taitojen erot tieteellisen kirjallisuuden ja työpaikkailmoitusten välillä. Tutkielman ai-neistoksi kerättiin 19 työpaikkailmoitusta, jotka analysoitiin teorialähtöisesti sisällönanalyysiä sekä aineiston erittelyä hyödyntäen. Internettekstit argumentoinnin lähteinä: kuudesluokkalaisten heikkojen ja sujuvien lukijoiden argumentointitaidot

Tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli selvittää kuudesluokkalaisten kirjallisia argumentointitaitoja silloin, kun he etsivät tietoa internetistä ottaakseen kantaa kiistanalaiseen asiaan. Lisäksi tarkasteltiin lukusujuvuuden heijastumista näihin taitoihin. Argumentointitaidot ovat keskeisiä taitoja jo lapsille kehittäen muun muassa ymmärtävää oppimista sekä kriittistä internetlukutaitoa. Tutkimus toteutettiin osana Suomen Akatemian rahoittamaa eSeek-hanketta, ja siihen osallistui 341 kuudesluokkalaista.
