In order to prevent hydrocarbon discharge at sea from ships, the International Maritime Organization (IMO) enacted the MARPOL 73/78 convention in which any oil and oil residue discharged in wastewater streams must contain less than 5 ppm hydrocarbons. Effective treatment of this petroleum-contaminated water is essential prior to its release into the environment, in order to prevent pollution problem for marine ecosystems as well as for human health. The work arises from the consideration that the environmental impact of a road cannot be limited to the analysis of its constituent materials, even if correctly analyzed in their life cycle. This paper presents the main results of the research work that promoted the design and implementation of training and guidance played in the territory of Palermo during the school years 2013/2014 and 2014/2015 in three secondary schools, with operating procedures, capable of promoting inclusive paths, based on the involvement of students, teachers and parents. Nell’a.a. 2021/2022 si è svolto il progetto di ricerca “Prevenzione degli incidenti domestici e promozione dell'attività fisica over 60”, al fine di promuovere il benessere di 8 gruppi di persone over 60 (218 in totale) della provincia di Palermo. In seno al progetto, la somministrazione del questionario DigComp ha permesso l’individuazione di un gruppo di esperimento (22 persone) e uno di controllo (24 persone) aventi un’età media di 70 anni (cluster sampling). Unwanted mental intrusions (UMIs) and their functional consequences had been proposed as symptom dimensions in current cognitive models of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD), Illness Anxiety/Hypochondriasis (IA/H) and Eating Disorders (EDs). The main purpose of this doctoral dissertation was to ascertain the transdiagnostic nature of UMIs, above and beyond their specific contents, i.e., obsessional, appearance defects, illness and death, and eating disorders-related. Although an increasing number of horizontal gene transfers have been reported in eukaryotes, experimental evidence for their adaptive value is lacking. Here, we report the recent transfer of a 158-kb genomic region between Torulaspora microellipsoides and Saccharomyces cerevisiae wine yeasts or closely related strains. This genomic region has undergone several rearrangements in S. cerevisiae strains, including gene loss and gene conversion between two tandemly duplicated FOT genes encoding oligopeptide transporters.
