Synchronization in Vehicle Routing—A Survey of VRPs with Multiple Synchronization Constraints

This paper presents a survey of vehicle routing problems with multiple synchronization constraints. These problems exhibit, in addition to the usual task covering constraints, further synchronization requirements between the vehicles, concerning spatial, temporal, and load aspects. They constitute an emerging field in vehicle routing research and are becoming a “hot” topic. Reconsidering off-task: a comparative study of PDA-mediated activities in four classrooms

Mobile technology is ubiquitous and diverse and permeates many aspects of daily life at home, during leisure activities, and in public spaces. The study presented here is of two sixth grade classes in Michigan, USA and two seventh grade classes in Norway. The students and the teachers in these four classrooms were equipped with mobile technologies (PDAs). We found that the students’ PDA-mediated actions in the classroom were not exclusively used for the tasks and activities set by the teacher, but that the students also used the PDAs on their own initiative – so-called ‘off-task’ activities. We analyze the findings by reconsidering off-task activities from a sociocultural perspective.

Nurse practice – clinical learning environment and student satisfaction
 The purpose of this study was to investigate nursing students’ satisfaction with the clinical learning environment during clinical practice. A questionnaire was distributed to nursing students at a university (N=250) in Norway. Student satisfaction, task orientation, pedagogical atmosphere, supervisory relationship, and the premises of nursing on the ward were measured. Of the 250 students invited, 163 (66 %) completed the survey. Analysis of the Relationship Between Context and Solution Plan in Modelling Tasks Involving Estimations

In this chapter we analyse students’ written solution plan of a sequence of modelling tasks involving estimations. Our research objective is to statistically analyse whether there is a relation between the solution plan and the characteristics of the context of the real estimation task. From previous work, we have identified some task variables that are directly related to the context. Consistencies of psychomotor styles in interpersonal tasks

Abstract.— Interpersonal behaviour of individuals in five tasks (individual performance, two dyadic tasks, two small-group tasks) was videotaped and coded on 11 psychomotor categories concerning (a) movements regulating interaction, (b) indications of tension, and (c) temperamental acts. The individual consistencies were examined on the basis of correlational analyses and task similarities. Ontology-based state representations for intention recognition in human–robot collaborative environments

In this paper, we describe a novel approach for representing state information for the purpose of intention recognition in cooperative human-robot environments. States are represented by a combination of spatial relationships in a Cartesian frame along with cardinal direction information. This approach is applied to a manufacturing kitting operation, where humans and robots are working together to develop kits. Traditional theories of early visual processing suggest that elementary visual features are handled in parallel by independent neural pathways. We studied the interaction of orientation and spatial frequency in the discrimination of Gabor random fields. Target textures differed from reference textures either in mean feature value, showing an edge-like transition between both textures (edge defined), or in the degree of feature homogeneity with smooth transitions (region defined). Many patients with locked-in syndrome (LIS) or complete locked-in syndrome (CLIS) also need brain-computer interface (BCI) platforms that do not rely on visual stimuli and are easy to use. We investigate command following and communication functions of mindBEAGLE with 9 LIS, 3 CLIS patients and three healthy controls. This tests were done with vibro-tactile stimulation with 2 or 3 stimulators (VT2 and VT3 mode) and with motor imagery (MI) paradigms.
