Tempo e ragione nella determinazione all’agire libero. Coordinate di orientamento
2013
The topic of the essay is the relationship between time and pure practical reason in the Kant’s Theory of the free determination of the will. We ask if the orientation of the free will to the moral law implies a specific orientation in time, in which the subject can get the sense of the absolute and urgent rational obbligation to the freedom. We analyse the dinamical aspect of the pure reason on the intermediete normative level of the maxims. We research in which kind of reference points in time are the conditions of possibility of the subversion of the empirical causality, of the turn of the subjective principles’ order, of the Revolution in Conduct of Thought. Furthermore temporal referen…
Discovery of recurring behavioural sequences in Wistar rat social activity: Possible support to studies on Autism Spectrum Disorders.
2017
This study was undertaken to investigate whether, in rat interactive activities, recurring sequences of behavioural events might be identified and how and to what extent each component of the pair is involved. To this aim, the multivariate temporal-pattern (t-pattern) analysis was applied to the social interactions of 9 pairs of male Wistar rats tested in open field. Interactive activities were classified into intra- and inter-subjects. Quantitative evaluations showed that intra-subject behavioural elements represented 62.37% and inter-subject ones 37.63% of the comprehensive behaviour. T-pattern analysis revealed the presence of 221 different t-patterns organized in four different categori…
COGNITIVE PROCESSING OF SENSORY STIMULI IN CERVICAL DYSTONIA
2015
Objective: Investigation of spatial and temporal recognition in Cervical Dystonia (CD). Methods: Four neuropsychological tasks, based on perception in time and space domains of visual and acoustic stimuli, were given to twenty-two CD patients and twenty-two age-matched healthy controls (C). Repeated measure ANOVA was run on group (CD, C), either pooling type of task (spatial, temporal) and type of stimuli (visual, acoustic) factors coming from all tasks either investigating single tasks. Results: In pooled analysis we found that CD were less accurate than C (F¼6.080, p¼0.018). In particular CD were worse in spatial-acoustic task (F¼5.839, p¼0.020). Significant differences were detected, eva…

Testing for local structure in spatiotemporal point pattern data
2017
The detection of clustering structure in a point pattern is one of the main focuses of attention in spatiotemporal data mining. Indeed, statistical tools for clustering detection and identification of individual events belonging to clusters are welcome in epidemiology and seismology. Local second-order characteristics provide information on how an event relates to nearby events. In this work, we extend local indicators of spatial association (known as LISA functions) to the spatiotemporal context (which will be then called LISTA functions). These functions are then used to build local tests of clustering to analyse differences in local spatiotemporal structures. We present a simulation stud…
A Spatial-Temporal Correlation Approach for Data Reduction in Cluster-Based Sensor Networks
2019
International audience; In a resource-constrained Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs), the optimization of the sampling and the transmission rates of each individual node is a crucial issue. A high volume of redundant data transmitted through the network will result in collisions, data loss, and energy dissipation. This paper proposes a novel data reduction scheme, that exploits the spatial-temporal correlation among sensor data in order to determine the optimal sampling strategy for the deployed sensor nodes. This strategy reduces the overall sampling/transmission rates while preserving the quality of the data. Moreover, a back-end reconstruction algorithm is deployed on the workstation (Sink)…
Intrapulmonary 3He Gas Distribution Depending on Bolus Size and Temporal Bolus Placement
2008
OBJECTIVE: Dynamic ventilation (3)He-MRI is a new method to assess pulmonary gas inflow. As differing airway diameters throughout the ventilatory cycle can influence gas inflow this study intends to investigate the influence of volume and timing of a He gas bolus with respect to the beginning of the tidal volume on inspiratory gas distribution. MATERIALS AND METHODS: An ultrafast 2-dimensional spoiled gradient echo sequence (temporal resolution 100 milliseconds) was used for dynamic ventilation (3)He-MRI of 11 anesthetized and mechanically ventilated pigs. The applied (3)He gas bolus was varied in volume between 100 and 200 mL. A 150-mL bolus was varied in its application time after the beg…
Periodic time-domain modulation for the electrically tunable control of optical pulse train envelope and repetition rate multiplication
2012
An electrically tunable system for the control of optical pulse sequences is proposed and demonstrated. It is based on the use of an electrooptic modulator for periodic phase modulation followed by a dispersive device to obtain the temporal Talbot effect. The proposed configuration allows for repetition rate multiplication with different multiplication factors and with the simultaneous control of the pulse train envelope by simply changing the electrical signal driving the modulator. Simulated and experimental results for an input optical pulse train of 10 GHz are shown for different multiplication factors and envelope shapes. © 2006 IEEE.

This work talks about the discursive and strategic values of the change of tenses in colloquial speech and tries to show their regularities, what means that is not anomalous.
