Introduction: The temporomandibular disorders (TMDs) have been identified as the most important cause of pain in the facial region. The low level laser therapy (LLLT) has demonstrated to have an analgesic, anti-inflammatory and biostimulating effects. The LLLT is a noninvasive, quick and safe, non-pharmaceutical intervention that may be beneficial for patients with TMDs. The ultra-thin bronchoscope in management of the difficult paediatric airway

The use of an ultra-thin flexible fiberoptic bronchoscope with a single lumen diameter of 2.7 mm at the distal tip to assist intubation of paediatric patients with a difficult airway is reported. Two patients (ages 30 months and 18 months) with mandibular hypoplasia and one patient (three months) with the Pierre-Robin syndrome are reported. In each case two fiberoptic bronchoscopes were used. The first allowed introduction of topical local anaesthetic while the second and smaller one was used for tube placement.

The objective of this study was to assess the anatomical changes to the condyle and articular disc following mandibular advancement surgery, the adaptation of the masticatory muscles, and the improvement or worsening of temporomandibular disorders (TMD) in patients with pre-existing disorders and those who developed them following surgery. The temporomandibular joint (TMJ) arthrocentesis is a common procedure in maxillofacial surgery departments for the treatment of TMJ dysfunction. The use of ultrasonography in this area is rare, and in the vast majority of cases only as a diagnostic, and non-therapeutic use. Abstract Objective This study analyzes the psychological variables of distress, personality, and coping that are related to the diagnosis based on the Research Diagnostic Criteria for temporomandibular disorder. Study design An age and sex-matched controlled study conducted with a convenience sample (n = 89) in a tertiary care facility.
