Eberhard Juengel: l’esperienza con l’esperienza
2011
Ecotheology in the service of religion and science
2020
The aim of the text is to assess the ecumenical potential of various contemporary approaches to ecotheology, which try to take into account the achievements of natural and social sciences. It outlines the effects of the ecumenical interest of the Churches in ecology, understood as a certain style of thinking and acting, taking into account the good of the natural environment. The results of ecological interest in the Churches are discussed by numerous authors. For example, two complementary concepts from Western and Eastern Christianity are presented: Thomas Berry's Interdisciplinary Ecotheology and John Zizioulas' Ethically Oriented Ecotheology.

On the relation between language and gender in Catholic religious discourse
2021
The article falls within the current of linguistic research on religious language, specifically on the language of Polish Catholicism. The paper is divided into two parts. The first discusses the specificity of the problem of gender resulting from the fact that the objects of religious faith are supernatural Beings, but in human beliefs, in culture, they are also attributed gender. The figures from the world of the Sacred – God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, Mary, the angel, Satan – although they may be conceptualized as androgynous (in philosophy, in feminist theology), in „ordinary”, everyday cult and pastoral language (prayers, songs, sermons, etc.) they are linguistically represented as perso…

Future contingency and God’s knowledge of particulars in Avicenna
2022
Avicenna’s discussion of future contingent propositions is sometimes considered to entail metaphysical indeterminism. In this paper, I argue that his logical analysis of future contingent statements is best understood in terms of the epistemic modality of those statements, which has no consequences for modal metaphysics. This interpretation is corroborated by hitherto neglected material concerning the question of God’s knowledge of particulars. In the Taʿlīqāt, Avicenna argues that God knows particulars by knowing their complete causes, and when contrasted with the human knowledge of particulars, this epistemically superior access shows that the contingency of statements about future partic…
Bóg i „śmierć Boga” w pisarstwie Tomasza Mertona
2018
Thomas Merton, the American Trappist monk and religious writer, is the author of The Seven Storey Mountain, Seeds of Contemplation, The Ascent to Truth, the New Man and many other works in the field of spirituality. He is also an analytical thinker comparing scholastic philosophy with modern existentialism. In Conjectures of a guilty bystander he takes up a polemic with the Heideggerian concept of death. Merton examines this issue from the point of view of Christian axiology. The dogma of existentialism is something illogical to him: the idea of “the death of God”. His entire work is linked to a polemic with Thomas Altizer, an Anglican theologian inspired by the philosophy of Fryderyk Nietz…
Teologia między słowem i milczeniem
2019

The study offers a philosophical analysis of Nicholas Wolterstorff’s theory of justice and education for justice. Crucial aspects of Wolterstorff’s theory are his understanding of justice as inherent rights and justice as inherent worth. Interrelated to this are the concepts of life-goods, well-being and the good life. Within this framework of rights grounded in worth, the notions of natural human rights and human dignity occupy a special position. These notions in turn form the philosophical foundation and implications for education for justice. The study is divided into two parts. The first part delves into the notion of justice as inherent rights. The key aspects addressed in this sectio…
