Cardiovascular disease (CVD) accounts for more than 17 million deaths per year worldwide. It has been estimated that the influence of lifestyle on CVD mortality amounts to 13.7% for smoking, 13.2% for poor diet, and 12% for inactive lifestyle. Assessment of microplastics and other contaminants in marine vertebrates from the Western Mediterranean Sea

Mediterranean marine biodiversity is under threat by pollution. For this reason, the main objective of this thesis was to analyse the presence of pollutants of concern in Mediterranean marine species. These studies are located in the Valencian Community (Spain), where we find loggerhead turtles, striped dolphins, and jewel lanternfish. Hence, we: 1. Analysed pesticides, heavy metals and phthalates in tissues of loggerhead turtles. 2. Studied microdebris present in beaches that are sporadically used as nesting grounds by loggerhead turtles. 3. Il contributo offre una sintesi degli aspetti salienti e dei casi studio trattati in occasione del VII congresso AISU, nella sessione intitolata "I luoghi del grano nelle città del Mediterraneo in età moderna", introdotta e coordinata dai due autori del contributo. La questione del rapporto tra spazio urbano e “luoghi del grano”, reciproche interferenze e condizionamenti, è al centro di una riflessione che punta l'attenzione in particolare su fenomeni insediativi e ricerche tipologiche, per un verso, e, per altro sulle declinazioni del binomio difesa/ostentazione in relazione ai luoghi di stoccaggio e commercializzazione del grano nelle città mediterranee in età moderna.
