Occurrence and Antimicrobial Resistance of Arcobacter spp. Recovered from Aquatic Environments

Arcobacter spp. are emerging waterborne and foodborne zoonotic pathogens responsible for gastroenteritis in humans. In this work, we evaluated the occurrence and the antimicrobial resistance profile of Arcobacter isolates recovered from different aquatic sources. Besides, we searched for Arcobacter spp. in seaweeds and the corresponding seawater samples. Bacteriological and molecular methods applied to 100 samples led to the isolation of 28 Arcobacter isolates from 27 samples. The highest prevalence was detected in rivers followed by artificial ponds, streams, well waters, and spring waters. Darbā vispārīgi tiek apskatīta tetovējumu vēsturiskā izmantošana, to mākslinieciskais raksturs un sabiedrības viedokļa attīstība attiecībā uz tetovējumiem kopumā, kā rezultātā sabiedrībā aizvien biežāk rodas jautājumi par potenciālu tetovējumu aizsardzību autortiesību kontekstā. Pēc teorijas izpētes un secinājumu izdarīšanas attiecībā uz tetovējumu aizsardzības iespējām, darbā tiek apskatīta autora personisko un mantisko tiesību realizācija un no realizācijas izrietošā problemātika gadījumā, kad autora radošās darbības rezultāts ir tetovējums, kā arī tetovējumu aizsardzības iespējas. Probing the origin of ultra-high-energy cosmic rays with neutrinos in the EeV energy range using the Pierre Auger Observatory

Neutrinos with energies above 1017 eV are detectable with the Surface Detector Array of the Pierre Auger Observatory. The identification is efficiently performed for neutrinos of all flavors interacting in the atmosphere at large zenith angles, as well as for Earth-skimming τ neutrinos with nearly tangential trajectories relative to the Earth. No neutrino candidates were found in ∼ 14.7 years of data taken up to 31 August 2018. This leads to restrictive upper bounds on their flux. Pētījuma mērķis bija noskaidrot, vai pastāv atšķirības starp bērnības traumatisku pieredzi un riska uztveri cilvēkiem ar tetovējumiem un cilvēkiem bez tetovējumiem, vai pastāv saistība starp bērnības traumatisku pieredzi un riska uztveri cilvēkiem ar tetovējumiem un kāda ir tetovēšanās motivācija un pieredze. Pētījumā piedalījās 147 respondenti vecumā no 19 līdz 59 gadiem, dalībnieku ar tetovējumiem izlasē piedalījās 55 respondenti (45 sievietes un 10 vīrieši) un dalībnieku bez tetovējumiem izlasē piedalījās 92 respondenti (76 sievietes un 16 vīrieši). Observation of inclined EeV air showers with the radio detector of the Pierre Auger Observatory

With the Auger Engineering Radio Array (AERA) of the Pierre Auger Observatory, we have observed the radio emission from 561 extensive air showers with zenith angles between 60 and 84. In contrast to air showers with more vertical incidence, these inclined air showers illuminate large ground areas of several km2 with radio signals detectable in the 30 to 80 MHz band. A comparison of the measured radio-signal amplitudes with Monte Carlo simulations of a subset of 50 events for which we reconstruct the energy using the Auger surface detector shows agreement within the uncertainties of the current analysis. Bakalaura darba tēma ir “Sievišķība un tetovēts sievietes ķermenis”. Darba mērķis ir izpētīt, tetovēta ķermeņa un sievišķības savienojamību no tetovēto sieviešu pieredzes. Apakšmērķis ir aplūkot sabiedrības uzskatus par tetovējumiem uz sieviešu ķermeņiem. Mērķa sasniegšanai tika izmantotas daļēji strukturētas intervijas un interneta aptauja ar tetovētām sievietēm. Tika noskaidrots, ka tetovēts ķermenis ir savienojams ar sievišķību.

The ''theory of the dream'' discussed in the final section of the Theaetetus is based on a proportion: stoicheion is to syllabé as onoma is to logos. The four terms indicate the simple and the complex in the two components, phonic and semantic, of language. More specifically, logos does not mean ''reason'', stoicheion does not mean ''letter'' and syllabé does not only mean ''syllable''. Logos does not mean ''reason''. In the final part of Theaetetus, logos is associated with ''lego'' (''to say''), and opposed to onoma (''name'', ''word'').
