Benzothiazolethione complexes of coinage metals: from mononuclear complexes to clusters and polymers
2019
Abstract The reactions of 2(3H)-benzothiazolethione (Hbtt) with [AuCl(tetrahydrothiophene)] and CuBr2 were studied, and found to yield a tetranuclear cluster compound [Au(btt)]4 [1] and a polymeric structure [CuBr(btt-btt)]n.nTHF (2). Crystallographic and spectroscopic methods were used for the characterization. In 1, the monoanionic ligand acted as a bidentate bridging N,S-donor giving a molecular cluster structure of an asymmetric coordination isomer. In the formation of 2, the ligand was dimerized by forming a S–S bond after deprotonation, and coordination via nitrogen donors to metal atoms took place leading to a polymeric structure. To clarify the diversity of reactions of Hbtt with co…

Abstract Complexes [Pd(κ2-R)(μ-Cl)]2 [κ2-R=κ2-C,N′-C6H3(NNC6H4Me-4′)-2-Me-5 (1)] and [Pd(κ1-R)Cl(κ1-dppm)(κ2-dppm)]TfO [dppm=bis(diphenylphosphino)methane (2)] have been used to prepare new palladium derivatives containing dppm. Thus, complex 1 reacts with one equivalent of dppm to afford [{Pd(κ2-R)Cl}2(μ-dppm)] (3) and with AgClO4 and dppm (1:2:2 molar ratios) to give [Pd(κ2-R)(κ2-dppm)]ClO4 (4·ClO4). The triflate salt of this complex (4·TfO) reacts with PPh3 to yield [Pd(κ1-R)(PPh3)(κ2-dppm)]TfO (5). Dinuclear complexes were obtained by reacting 2, (i) with [AuCl(PPh3)] or [AuCl(tht)] (tht=tetrahydrothiophene) (1:1, −60 °C) and (ii) with 1 (2:1) to give, respectively, [Pd(κ1-R)Cl(μ-dppm…

Combined effect of noble metals (Pd, Au) and support properties on HDS activity of Co/SiO2 catalysts
2009
Abstract Cobalt-based catalysts supported on different types of SiO 2 are studied in the hydrodesulfurization of thiophene. Amorphous silica and siliceous MCM-41 and HMS, characterized by different texture and surface acidity are used as carriers. The effects due to the modification of the support by impregnation with palladium precursor and to the co-impregnation of cobalt and gold are considered. The catalysts are characterized by N 2 physisorption (BET), XRD, TPR and XPS techniques. The use as supports of the ordered mesoporous silica with higher surface area with respect to amorphous silica, produces a better dispersion of the cobalt oxides particles. Moreover, the addition of palladium…
