Natural upper anterior teeth display an increasing proportion in mesio-distal direction

Background This study aimed to determine the esthetic proportion of six natural upper anterior teeth in northeastern Thai population as well as the level of esthetic satisfaction of distinct tooth proportions. Material and Methods Front-view photographs were taken from participants living in the Northeastern Thailand (n=140) of the 18-35 years of age. Computerized program was used for measuring the size of each tooth. All subjects also scored the satisfaction level of different photographs portraying 4 proportions of anterior teeth (golden proportion, 70% RED, 80% RED, and an increasing proportion). HLA antigen, gene, and haplotype frequencies in Thailand.

Antigen, gene, and haplotype frequencies as well as phenotype distribution of the HLA system were studied in a series of 213 individuals in northern Thailand. The series consisted of 160 northern Thais, 23 Thai individuals from various other regions of Thailand, and 25 persons of Chinese origin. Most frequently found were the alleles HLA-A11 and HLA-Bw40 and the haplotype HLA-A2, B-. Phenotype distribution followed a Hardy-Weinberg expectation. Significant differences were found especially between our results for the alleles of locus B and the results of a series from Bangkok reported by Chiewsilp and Chanarat (1976).
International student mobility in Southern-Latin Europe: beyond the EU logics, towards a new space

This paper discusses international student mobility (ISM) in Southern-Latin Europe, specifically Italy, Portugal, and Spain, analysing the inflow of international students as reflected in the UNESCO, OECD and European Commission databases. Only recently Italy, Portugal and Spain, as latecomers, have become more actively involved in ISM dynamics. This trend has been a response to EU pressures to internationalization, instrumented through the consolidation of the Bologna process and the need to build a common space of higher education. The Difference in Verbal aggressiveness Between the United States and Thailand

This study analyzes the verbal aggressiveness of Americans (n = 592) and Thais (n = 232). Specifically, the analysis of this convenience sample revealed that Thais are more verbally aggressive than Americans. Cultural differences between the 2 nations are discussed as explanations for differences between the 2 nations in verbal aggressiveness.
