The aim of this article is to investigate the religious and theological aspects related to the medieval practice of peacemaking. Pacta de crimine are legally justified by Roman sources (C. 2,4,18) but they are also characterised by the mes-sianic significance of peace. This paper considers the heritage of classical culture and theology analysing the normative experience of the commune of Perugia.

Giuliano Montaldo’s Giordano Bruno is a biopic that marks a turn in the history of Italian biographical cinema. This essay analyses this movie in the light of Bruno’s thought, highlighting its relevance for the present “biographical turn” as well as the importance of film theory and practice in the framework of the so-called “Italian Thought”. By considering them as strictly intertwined, the essay aims at underlying the crucial theoretical role played by biopics in the definition of specific key concepts of the present time.

The renewed interest in metaphysics in the areas of both analytic and conti-nental philosophy and the plurality of metaphysics arising from the different conceptions of metaphysics worked out in the various investigative fields make it necessary to ask what metaphysics can be practised today. In its origin from Aristotle metaphysics has an eidetic essence which makes metaphysics highly compatible with phenomenology. Such an eidetic structure supports the project of a phenomenological metaphysics which is able to respond to the needs of philosophical research of today in both the ontological and gnose-ological spheres.

Jürgen Habermas’ recent work is focused on the relationship between reason and faith in what he suggest that we should name post-secular society. Habermas argues that traditional religions such as Christianity can have semantic contents very useful to uphold a moral motivation in order to contrast the instrumental reason of the globalized markets. I will try to show that these recent developments of Habermas’ theories risk to conflict with some elements of his previous approach. Artykul ten wpisuje sie rowniez w dyskusje nad miejscami pamieci i ich mozliwą treścią – wykraczającą poza podtrzymujące pamiec zbiorową muzea, pomniki, upamietniające tablice czy cmentarze – realizowaną w codziennym zyciu jednostki. Przedmiotem analiz jest pamiec spoleczna mieszkancow Wroclawia, ich konstrukcje światow spolecznych opierające sie na przestrzeni miasta obciązonej obcą kulturowo „pamiecią nieobecnych”.
