Principal Values of Cauchy Integrals, Rectifiable Measures and Sets

The extensive studies started by A. P. Calderon in the sixties and continued by many authors up today have revealed that the Cauchy integrals $$ {C_{\Gamma }}f(z) = \int_{\Gamma } {\frac{{f\left( \zeta \right)d\zeta }}{{\zeta - z}}} $$ behave very well on sufficiently regular, not necessarily smooth, curves F, see [CCFJR], [D] and [MT].

THE BISHOP-PHELPS-BOLLOBAS THEOREM FOR BILINEAR FORMS

In this paper we provide versions of the Bishop-Phelps-Bollobás Theorem for bilinear forms. Indeed we prove the first positive result of this kind by assuming uniform convexity on the Banach spaces. A characterization of the Banach space Y Y satisfying a version of the Bishop-Phelps-Bollobás Theorem for bilinear forms on ℓ 1 × Y \ell _1 \times Y is also obtained. As a consequence of this characterization, we obtain positive results for finite-dimensional normed spaces, uniformly smooth spaces, the space C ( K ) \mathcal {C}(K) of continuous functions on a compact Hausdorff topological space K K and the space K ( H ) K(H) of compact operators on a Hilbert space H H . Let ω be a differential form of degree k - 1 and class C 1 in a neighborhood of a compact regular k-surface with boundary M of class C 2. The general Stokes’s theorem gives a relationship between the integral of ω over the boundary of M and the integral of the exterior differential dω over M. It can be viewed as a generalization of Green’s theorem to higher dimensions, and it plays a role not unlike that of the fundamental theorem of calculus in an elementary course of analysis. A continuous circle of pseudo-arcs filling up the annulus

We prove an early announcement by Knaster on a decomposition of the plane. Then we establish an announcement by Anderson saying that the plane annulus admits a continlous decomposition into pseudo-arcs such that the quotient space is a simple closed curve. This provides a new plane curve, "a selectible circle of pseudo-aics", and answers some questions of Lewis.

Abstract We improve a Duda’s theorem concerning metric and w *-Gâteaux differentiability of Lipschitz mappings, by replacing the σ-ideal 𝓐 of Aronszajn null sets [ARONSZAJN, N.: Differentiability of Lipschitzian mappings between Banach spaces, Studia Math. 57 (1976), 147–190], with the smaller σ-ideal 𝓐 of Preiss-Zajíček null sets [PREISS, D.—ZAJÍČEK, L.: Directional derivatives of Lipschitz functions, Israel J. Math. 125 (2001), 1–27]. We also prove the inclusion C̃ o ⊂ 𝓐, where C̃ o is the σ-ideal of Preiss null sets [PREISS, D.: Gâteaux differentiability of cone-monotone and pointwise Lipschitz functions, Israel J. Math. 203 (2014), 501–534].

Abstract In this short note we correct the (incomplete) classification theorem from [F. Podesta, A. Spiro, Four-dimensional Einstein-like manifolds and curvature homogeneity, Geom. Dedicata 54 (1995) 225–243], we improve a result from [P. Bueken, L. Vanhecke, Three- and four-dimensional Einstein-like manifolds and homogeneity, Geom. Dedicata 75 (1999) 123–136] and we announce the final solution of the classification problem for 4-dimensional homogeneous D'Atri spaces.

Fibered aspects of Yoneda's regular span

In this paper we start by pointing out that Yoneda's notion of a regular span $S \colon \mathcal{X} \to \mathcal{A} \times \mathcal{B}$ can be interpreted as a special kind of morphism, that we call fiberwise opfibration, in the 2-category $\mathsf{Fib}(\mathcal{A})$. We study the relationship between these notions and those of internal opfibration and two-sided fibration.
