Social pedagogue skills communication and therapy

The article concerns the role of communication skills needed in the work of the social pedagog. The authors depict how important are social skills, especially those related to communication, pedagogs’ and therapists’ work. The paper presents different concepts and views on the preparation and aptitudes they should have social pedagogs. Later in the article the authors describe some therapeutic skills such as: the skill of reacting, solicitude and acceptance, empathic understanding, the skill of observation, the skill of listening ora the skill of speaking, which are important in work.

A great number of studies are supporting father’s vital contribution in the well-being of their children. Fatherlessness, on the other hand, is something that more and more children are experiencing, growing up in a single-parent family. The paper deals with the issue of foster care as a form of substitute family care in the Czech Republic. In the introduction, the author draws attention to the changes in numbers of children placed in institutions providing institutional care after the amendment o f the Act on Social and Legał Protection of Children No. 401/2012 Coli., with subsequent amendments. Introduction: When it comes to the delicate relationship between a baby and its parents, the voices of the parents have a significant role in communicating love, tenderness, and closeness as well as in supporting self-regulation as necessary for secure attachment. Under suboptimal experiences, such as premature birth, infant-directed singing takes on an even more important and therapeutic role since preterm infants miss the finely attuned auditory stimulation of the womb and the mother-infant dyad is disrupted too early.

The ability of regulatory T cells (Tregs) to promote immunological tolerance represents an important obstacle in cancer immunotherapy. We have recently discovered that the clinically established immunotherapeutic agent interferon α (IFNα) inactivates the suppressive functions of human Tregs. Here, we outline the mechanisms whereby IFNα mediates this important function and discuss its therapeutic implications for cancer immunotherapy.
Influence of the sex reassignment on the subjective well-being of transgender men – results of the pilot study and discussion about future research

This pilot study was aimed at verifying scientific reports on the good functioning of transgender people. On this basis, it was attempted to compare the subjective well-being of transgender men with heterosexual, homosexual and bisexual cisgender men. This study tried to verify the role of hormone therapy and surgical gender correction (sex reassignment surgery) as potential predictors of the subjective well-being of transgender men. Active commuting to school among 36,781 Spanish children and adolescents: A temporal trend study.

This study examines trends in the rates of active commuting to school (ACS) in Spanish children (n = 18 343; 8.93 ± 1.68) and adolescents (n = 18 438; 14.11 ± 1.58) aged 6‐18 years from 2010 to 2017. Given the study period included the economic crisis in Spain (2008‐2013), the second aim of this study was to compare ACS rates during and after the economic crisis. Data were obtained from 28 studies conducted across Spain. The overall trends in ACS were evaluated using multilevel logistic regression analysis. Among Spanish children and adolescents, the rates of ACS to school ranged around 60% between 2010 and 2017. The rates of ACS in Spanish youth did not change significantly during the 2010…
