Three anhydrous forms and a dihydrate form of quifenadine hydrochloride: a structural study of the thermodynamic stability and dehydration mechanism
2015
Crystal structures of dihydrate (DH) and three anhydrous forms (A, B and C) of quifenadine (1-azabicyclo[2.2.2]oct-8-yl-diphenyl-methanol) hydrochloride are presented, and crystal structure information is used to explain and rationalize the relative stability of polymorphs and observed phase transformations. The dehydration mechanism of the hydrate is provided by interpreting the results obtained in studies of crystal structures, dehydration kinetics and thermal analysis. Structural analysis is used to explain the observed relative stability of the anhydrous phases and the hydrate. The crystal structures have been determined either from single crystal (form DH) or from powder diffraction da…
X-ray investigation and discussion of the magnetostriction of Gd3T(T= Ni, Rh, Irx) single crystals
2000
The variations of the lattice parameters of Gd3T(T= Ni, Rh, Irx) single crystals with temperature were measured in the range 10–300 K. The compounds with Ni and Rh crystallize in the orthorhombic space groupPnma, but the compound with Ir crystallizes as Gd5Ir2in the monoclinic space groupA2/a. The three compounds exhibit an anomalous anisotropic spontaneous magnetostriction below the magnetic ordering temperature.
Indication of an order-order-transition by a partial disordering in ABC-triblock copolymers
1996
Poly(ethylene-alt-propylene)-block-polyethylethylene-block-polystyrene (PEP-b-PEE-b-PS) triblock copolymers were synthesized by anionic polymerization and subsequent hydrogenation of poly-1,4-isoprene-block-poly-1,2-butadiene-block-polystyrene triblock copolymers (1,4PI-b-1,2PB-b-PS). Differential scanning calorimetry and dynamic mechanical spectroscopy reveal an order-order transition which is induced by the mixing of PEP and PEE above their respective order-disorder transition (ODT).
Structural effects of Co and Cr substitution in LaMnO3 + δ
2000
Series of perovskite oxides with the composition LaMn1 − xMxO3 + δ (M = Cr, Co; 0 ≤ x ≤ 1) have been synthesized by thermal treatment of precursors obtained by freeze-drying of acetic acid solutions. The oxides have been characterized by X-ray diffraction, and the Mn4+ content and, thus, the oxygen excess, δ, has been determined by redox back-titration. LaMnO3.14 and LaCrO3 phases have the rhombohedral-LaAlO3 and the orthorhombic-GdFeO3 structures, respectively. The LaMn1 − xCrxO3 + δ phases have the rhombohedral structure for x ≤ 0.3, and the orthorhombic structure for x ≥ 0.5. LaCoO3 has, as LaMnO3.14, the rhombohedral structure. However, the LaMn1 − xCoxO3 + δ phases have orthorhombic st…
Molecular association in low-temperature and high-pressure polymorphs of 1,1,1,2-tetrachloroethane
2010
Interactions and aggregation of 1,1,1,2-tetrachloroethane molecules, Cl3CCH2Cl, have been investigated at low temperature and high pressure. Isobaric and isochoric crystallizations led to two polymorphs, characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The low-temperature polymorph α is monoclinic, space group C2/c, with molecules orientationally disordered in two sites at the temperature independent 70:30 rate. In isothermal conditions (295 K) 1,1,1,2-tetrachloroethane freezes at 0.73 GPa. The high-pressure polymorph β is monoclinic, space group P21/c, with the molecules fully ordered. The molecular aggregation at varied thermodynamic conditions results from the interplay of halogen inte…
Microstructural evolution of mullites produced from single-phase gels
2007
The crystalline microstructure of mullites obtained by heating monophasic gels has been investigated. Gels with alumina to silica molar ratio of 3:2 (as in secondary mullite) and 2:1 (as in primary mullite) were prepared by gelling mixtures of aluminium nitrate and tetraethylorthosilicate. Phase transformations were induced by heating the gel precursors, with different final treatment temperatures between 1173 and 1873 K. The mullites formed as a result of thermal treatment were studied by means of X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy. The crystalline structure (unit-cell parameters) and microstructure were determined from X-ray diffraction pa…
Influence of diamagnetic impurity on mid‐IR absorption in antiferromagnetic insulator NiO
2005
-1 was studied in polycrystalline Ni c Mg 1-c O solid solutions with c=0.99, 0.98, 0.97, 0.95, 0.90, 0.80, 0.70 and 0.60. The composition and temperature dependences of the absorption suggest that the band has magnetic origin re- lated to simultaneous excitation of two-magnons at the Brillouin-zone boundary and one phonon. -1 in polycrystalline NicMg1-cO solid solutions. Polycrystalline solid solutions NicMg1-cO (c=0.99, 0.98, 0.97, 0.95, 0.90, 0.80, 0.70 and 0.60) were prepared using ceramic technology from the appropriate amounts of aqueous solutions of Mg(NO3)2·6H2O and Ni(NO3)2·6H2O salts, which were mixed and slowly evaporated. The remaining dry 'flakes' were heated up to 500-600 oC to…
Pressure-Induced Spin State Conversion in Antiferromagnetically Coupled Fe(II) Dinuclear Complexes
2001
The effect of pressure on the thermal dependence of the magnetic susceptibility has been investigated in the 2,2‘-bipyrimidine (bpm)-bridged iron(II) complexes of formula {[Fe(L)(NCX)2]2bpm} (X = S...
Nachweis des di-2-cyanoisopropylperoxides bei der zersetzung von azoisobuttersäuredinitril in gegenwart von sauerstoff
1970
Di-2-cyanoisopropylperoxide is formed when azobisisobutyronitrile is decomposed under oxygen in isobutyronitrile as a solvent. The yield amounts to ca. 5%. Thermal decom…
Reaction between Cu-bearing minerals and hydrothermal fluids at 800 °C and 200 MPa: Constraints from synthetic fluid inclusions
2020
Abstract Transport and deposition of copper in the Earth's crust are mainly controlled by the solubility of Cu-bearing phases and the speciation of Cu in magmatic-hydrothermal fluids. To improve our understanding of copper mobilization by hydrothermal fluids, we conducted an experimental study on the interaction between Cu-bearing phases (metallic copper, Cu2O, CuCl) and aqueous chloride solutions (H2O ± NaCl ± HCl; with Cl concentrations of 0 to 4.3 mol kg-1). The experiments were run in rapid heat/rapid quench cold-seal pressure vessels at 800 °C, 200 MPa, and logfO2 ~ NNO+2.3. Either Cu or Au capsules were used as containers. The reaction products were sampled in situ by the entrapment o…
