AbstractA set of metals modified TiO2 photocatalysts were prepared starting from titanium tetraisopropoxyde and different metal precursors to study the influence of the addition of the various foreign agents on the physico-chemical and photocatalytic properties of the catalysts. Modification of the Selectivity Properties of Tubular Ceramic Membranes after Alkaline Treatment

International audience; This work focuses on the selectivity modification of ceramic membranes after a mild alkaline treatment. Filtration of pure saltwater solutions was carried out with commercial titania membranes before and after the treatment. After treatment, the rejection of NaF significantly decreased, while the rejection of NaCl and NaBr increased. Additionally, NaI and Na 2 SO 4 remained close to zero. Pore size and electrical charge being almost unchanged, only significant modifications in the dielectric effects can explain this modification of selectivity. State selective electron injection in non-aggregated titanium phthalocyanine sensitised nanocrystalline TiO2 films

We describe a novel titanium phthalocyanine that shows no aggregation when anchored to nanocrystalline TiO2 films through its axial carboxylated ligand without the use of co-adsorbents; state selective electron injection into the TiO2 is demonstrated, resulting in efficient photocurrent generation in dye sensitised photoelectrochemical solar cells. The staining effect of different mouthwashes containing nanoparticles on dental enamel

Background: This study aimed to evaluate the effects of several mouthwashes containing nanoparticles on discoloration of dental enamel, and compare the results with that of 0.2% chlorhexidine (CHX). Material and Methods: Sixty intact premolars were randomly assigned to six groups. A spectrophotometer was used to measure the color of the teeth (T1) according to the CIELAB system. The specimens in groups 1 to 4 were then immersed in colloidal solutions containing nanoTiO2 (Group 1), nanoZnO (Group 2), nanoAg (Group 3) and nanoCuO (Group 4). Non-volatile memory characteristics of a Ti/HfO2/Pt synaptic device with a crossbar array structure

The resistive switching and synaptic behavior of a fabricated Ti/HfO2/Pt crossbar array device are investigated. The results demonstrated that TiOx layers are created by the movement of oxygen ions during the positive SET process, thereby improving the endurance and multilevel switching behavior of the device. The random properties of SET process were described with the help of stochastic model of memristor based on the length of conductive filament. Influence of crystallinity and OH surface density on the photocatalytic activity of TiO2 powders

Abstract The aim of the work was to study the influence of crystallinity and OH surface density on the photocatalytic activity of two commercial and two home-prepared TiO 2 powders. The samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), thermogravimetric analysis (TG) and electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) measurements. The photoactivity of the powders was tested employing the photodegradation of 4-nitrophenol (4-NP) and the selective oxidation of 4-methoxybenzyl alcohol (4-MBA) to 4-methoxybenzaldehyde ( p -anisaldehyde) under UV irradiation. Quality control of food and agriculture production is an inseparable part of human safety and wellbeing. Salmonella infections belong to one of the most monitored pathogens in the world, therefore advanced determination of this pathogen can decrease the risks of human diseases caused by this microorganism. TiO2 Photocatalytic glucose conversion to H2 and high value chemicals

In this work it is reported the conversion of glucose in aqueous dispersion of various TiO2 based photocatalysts. Aerobic and anaerobic conditions were used to study the distribution of the products both in the liquid (arabinose, gluconic acid, fructose and formic acid) and gas (H2 and CO2) phases. Commercial and home prepared bare and Pt-supported TiO2 samples were used as the photocatalysts.
