Stiffness-Adaptive Taylor method for the integration of non-stiff and stiff kinetic models
1992
A systematic derivation procedure that greatly facilitates the application of the Taylor method to the integration of kinetic models is developed. In addition, an algorithm that gives the integration step as a function of the required level of accuracy is proposed. Using the Taylor method, application of this algorithm is immediate and largely reduces the integration time. In addition, a new method of integration of kinetic models, whose most important feature is the self-adaptability to the stiffness of the system along the integration process, is developed. This “stiffness-adaptive” Taylor method (SAT method) makes use of several algorithms, combining them to meet the particular requireme…
Neural Network Based Finite-Time Stabilization for Discrete-Time Markov Jump Nonlinear Systems with Time Delays
2013
Published version of an article in the journal: Abstract and Applied Analysis. Also available from the publisher at: http://dx.doi.org/10.1155/2013/359265 Open Access This paper deals with the finite-time stabilization problem for discrete-time Markov jump nonlinear systems with time delays and norm-bounded exogenous disturbance. The nonlinearities in different jump modes are parameterized by neural networks. Subsequently, a linear difference inclusion state space representation for a class of neural networks is established. Based on this, sufficient conditions are derived in terms of linear matrix inequalities to guarantee stochastic finite-time boundedness and stochastic finite-time stabi…
Synchronization of Uncertain Neural Networks with H8 Performance and Mixed Time-Delays
2011
An exponential H8 synchronization method is addressed for a class of uncertain master and slave neural networks with mixed time-delays, where the mixed delays comprise different neutral, discrete and distributed time-delays. An appropriate discretized Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional and some free weighting matrices are utilized to establish some delay-dependent sufficient conditions for designing a delayed state-feedback control as a synchronization law in terms of linear matrix inequalities under less restrictive conditions. The controller guarantees the exponential H8 synchronization of the two coupled master and slave neural networks regardless of their initial states. Numerical simulatio…
Distributed Consensus for Discrete-Time Directed Networks of Multiagents with Time-Delays and Random Communication Links
2013
Published version of an article in the journal: Abstract and Applied Analysis. Also available from the publisher at: http://dx.doi.org/10.1155/2013/158731 Open Access This paper is concerned with the leader-following consensus problem in mean-square for a class of discrete-time multiagent systems. The multiagent systems under consideration are the directed and contain arbitrary discrete time-delays. The communication links are assumed to be time-varying and stochastic. It is also assumed that some agents in the network are well informed and act as leaders, and the others are followers. By introducing novel Lyapunov functionals and employing some new analytical techniques, sufficient conditi…

2010
This paper establishes an exponential H infin synchronization method for a class of uncertain master and slave neural networks (MSNNs) with mixed time delays, where the mixed delays comprise different neutral, discrete, and distributed time delays. The polytopic and the norm-bounded uncertainties are separately taken into consideration. An appropriate discretized Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional and some free-weighting matrices are utilized to establish some delay-dependent sufficient conditions for designing delayed state-feedback control as a synchronization law in terms of linear matrix inequalities under less restrictive conditions. The controller guarantees the exponential H infin synchr…
H<inf>∞</inf> control for stochastic switched delay systems with missing measurements: An average dwell time approach
2012
In this paper, the problem of non-fragile observer-based H ∞ control for discrete-time switched delay systems is investigated. Both data missing and time delays are taken into account in the links from sensors to observers and from controllers to actuators. Such problem is transformed into an H ∞ control problem for stochastic switched delay systems. Average dwell time (ADT) approach is used to obtain sufficient conditions on the solvability of such problems. An example is provided to show the effectiveness of the proposed method.
Asynchronously switched control of discrete impulsive switched systems with time delays
2013
This paper is concerned with the stabilization problem for a class of uncertain discrete impulsive switched delay systems under asynchronous switching. The so-called asynchronous switching means that the switches between the candidate controllers and system modes are asynchronous. By using the average dwell time (ADT) approach, sufficient conditions for the existence of an asynchronously switched controller is derived such that the resulting closed-loop system is exponentially stable. The desired controller gains and the admissible switching signals are obtained in terms of a set of matrix inequalities. A numerical example is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
Stability analysis of logistics networks with time-delays
2012
Logistics network represents a complex system where different elements that are logistic locations interact with each other. This interaction contains delays caused by time needed for delivery of the material. In this paper, we study local input-to-state stability of such logistics networks. Their behaviour is described by a functional differential equation with a constant time-delay. An appropriate Lyapunov–Razumikhin function and the small gain condition are utilized to establish some conditions for stability analysis of the network under consideration. Our stability conditions for the logistics network are based on the information about the interconnection properties between logistic loc…

2011
The problem of robust mode-dependent delayed state feedback H∞ control is investigated for a class of uncertain time-delay systems with Markovian switching parameters and mixed discrete, neutral, and distributed delays. Based on the Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional theory, new required sufficient conditions are established in terms of delay-dependent linear matrix inequalities for the stochastic stability and stabilization of the considered system using some free matrices. The desired control is derived based on a convex optimization method such that the resulting closed-loop system is stochastically stable and satisfies a prescribed level of H∞ performance, simultaneously. Finally, two numer…
Non-fragile H ∞ control for switched stochastic delay systems with application to water quality process
2013
SUMMARY In this paper, the problem of non-fragile observer-based H ∞ control for discrete-time switched delay systems is investigated. Both data missing and time delays are taken into account in the links from sensors to observers and from controllers to actuators. Because data missing satisfies the Bernoulli distribution, such problem is transformed into an H ∞ control problem for stochastic switched delay systems. Average dwell time approach is used to obtain sufficient conditions on the solvability of such problems. A numerical example and a real example for water quality control are provided to illustrate the effectiveness and potential applications of the proposed techniques. Copyrig…
