Abstract: Information-theory procedures are powerful tools for multimodel inference and are now standard methods in ecology. When performing model averaging on a given set of models, the importance of a predictor variable is commonly estimated by summing the weights of models where the variable appears, the so-called sum of weights (SW). However, SWs have received little methodological attention and are frequently misinterpreted. Lapset multimodaalisten tekstien tulkitsijoina ja tuottajina esiopetuksessa

Tämän tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli kartoittaa multimodaalisten tekstien esiintymistä sekä niiden tulkitsemista ja tuottamista esiopetuksessa. Multimodaaliset tekstit ovat tekstejä, jotka yhdistelevät montaa eri ilmaisun kanavaa eli moodia, kuten esimerkiksi ääntä, kuvaa ja liikettä. Tutkimus toteutettiin yhdessä Keski-Suomen alueen esiopetusryhmässä havainnoimalla ryhmän toimintaympäristöä sekä tekstien tulkinnan ja tuottamisen tilanteita. Tutkimukseen osallistui 16 esiopetusikäistä 6–7-vuotiasta lasta sekä 3 ryhmän henkilökunnan jäsentä. Aineisto analysoitiin hyödyntäen aineistolähtöistä sisällönanalyysia. Tässä tutkielmassa tarkastellaan ammattikoululaisten nuorten tekstikäsityksiä. Tutkimusongelmani on, käsittävätkö opiskelijat tekstin kirjoitettuna ja monomodaalisena, vai hyväksyvätkö he tekstiksi myös monimodaalisia, muihinkin esitystapoihin nojaavia esityksiä. Tutkimuskysymykseni ovat, mikä ammattikoululaisen mielestä on teksti ja mitä kriteerejä hän tekstille asettaa. Tutkimusaihe on ajankohtainen ja siksi kiinnostava, että opetussuunnitelmauudistuksia on meneillään niin toisella asteella kuin peruskoulun puolellakin. This case study investigates the role of agency in the development of two students’ expertise during their participation in the year-long KOO-KIT program (Language Technology for Language Teachers) for pre-service language teachers at the Centre for Applied Language Studies of the University of Jyväskylä in the 2000s. Selvitän tässä tutkimuksessa, miten foneettinen tiedostaminen, motivoituneisuus puheopetukseen ja yhteisymmärrys erityisopettajan ja oppilaan välillä vaikuttavat äänneopetukseen ja sen lopputulokseen. Tutkimusta varten keräämäni aineisto koostuu kahdesta eri osasta: äänneopetustuokion videotallenteesta ja äänneopetuksessa olleiden nuorten aikuisten haastatteluaineistosta. From the past to the future : self-concepts of English language teachers from Finland and Korea

This article explores 1) how two English language teachers from Finland and Korea develop their self-concept as English learners throughout their English learning trajectory, and 2) the positive motivational effects of self-reflective experiences upon the research participants. To obtain more holistic research findings, a combination of verbal in-depth interviews with visual artworks depicting English learning timeline and self-portraits were used. The new revision of the land register is intended to give each real estate unit an assessed value which approximates the market value. The provided approach has statistical nature. However, in the absence of a well-established market, the coming reform requires the use of the indirect estimation procedure.This paper proposes a method for estimating the capitalization rate that could usefully be applied in mass appraisal.
