Flash annealing influence on structural and electrical properties of TiO2/TiO/Ti periodic multilayers

Abstract Multilayered structures with a 40 nm period composed of titanium and two different titanium oxides, TiO and TiO 2 , were accurately produced by DC magnetron sputtering using the reactive gas pulsing process. These multilayers were sputtered onto Al 2 O 3 sapphire to avoid substrate compound diffusion during flash annealing (ranging from 350 °C to 550 °C). Vapor plume and melted zone behavior during dissimilar laser welding of titanium to aluminum alloy

The present study deals with continuous Yb:YAG laser welding of pure titanium to aluminum alloy A5754 performed with different beam offsets to the joint line. Spectroscopic and morphological characterization of vapor plume exiting the keyhole was combined with post-mortem observation and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX) analysis of the welds. The laser beam centered on the joint line resulted in periodic transversal inclination of a vapor jet on the aluminum side associated with a local increase of melt width and an intense spatter formation. Impact of rolling conditions on the hydriding of grade 2 titanium welded tubes

In this article, we study the impact of rolling conditions on the texture of the commercially pure titanium grade 2. In a previous work, NEOTISS in collaboration with ICB laboratory, shown that the texture highly influences the precipitation of hydrides in Titanium. In order to create different textures, Titanium sheets grade 2 are cold rolled asymmetrically and symmetrically with or without lubricant. The inverse pole figures and direct pole figures obtained allow us to deduce that symmetrical cold rolling does not change the grains orientation but generates a rotation of grains along c-axis (normal to basal plan). Deep insight into electron transport and photovoltaic parameters in DSSCs

Dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) based on titanium (IV) oxide (TiO2) nanoparticles and nanotubes (NTs) with different weight ratios and phase compositions were fabricated. The obtained nanostructures were investigated using X-ray powder diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy and ultraviolet–visible spectroscopy. Current–voltage measurements and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy were used to investigate the electron transport and photovoltaic performance of DSSCs. The Grain Boundary Wetting Phenomena in the Ti-Containing High-Entropy Alloys: A Review

In this review, the phenomenon of grain boundary (GB) wetting by melt is analyzed for multicomponent alloys without principal components (also called high-entropy alloys or HEAs) containing titanium. GB wetting can be complete or partial. In the former case, the liquid phase forms the continuous layers between solid grains and completely separates them. In the latter case of partial GB wetting, the melt forms the chain of droplets in GBs, with certain non-zero contact angles. The GB wetting phenomenon can be observed in HEAs produced by all solidification-based technologies. A New LA ‐ ICP ‐ MS Method for Ti in Quartz: Implications and Application to High Pressure Rutile‐Quartz Veins from the Czech Erzgebirge

Experimental determination of the pressure and temperature controls on Ti solubility in quartz provides a calibration of the Ti-in-quartz (TitaniQ) geothermometer applicable to geological conditions up to ~ 20 kbar. We present a new method for determining 48Ti mass fractions in quartz by LA-ICP-MS at the 1 μg g−1 level, relevant to quartz in HP-LT terranes. These compounds were obtained by one-electron oxidation of d1 precursors with [Cp2Fe][BPh4]. The electronic structure of these compounds was studied experimentally (EPR, UV/Vis, and NMR spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction analysis) and through DFT calculations. Ethene/norbornene copolymerization with (isodicyclopentadienyl)titanium complex-MAO catalyst

Norbornene (NB) homopolymerization and ethene/NB copolymerizations with a silylene-bridged (isodicyclopentadienyl)(tert-butylamido)titanium dichloride-methylalumoxane (MAO) catalyst system were investigated. This catalytic system shows no efficiency towards NB homopolymerization but produces poly(ethene-co-norbornene)s. An increase in the initial NB feed content leads to a loss of copolymerization activity as well as NB copolymer incorporation. The structure of the isodicyclopentadienyl fragment (IsodiCp) has a strong limiting effect on comonomer incorporation possibilities.
