Combat sports such as taekwondo, where athletes compete against an opponent require control of technique and tactics, as well as knowing the optimal performance of opponents to win the bout. Therefore, the aim of the present study was to analyse the Olympic competitors (London Olympic Games), according to the weight category (fly, feather, light and heavy) and according to the performance in their fighting (winner vs. loser) in each gender. A novel improved matlab-based software for the electric and magnetic analysis and design of rotating electrical machines

The aim of this paper is to present a software for the analysis and design of windings of rotating electrical machines, considering both the electric and the magnetic specifications on the machine. The considered machines are induction motors (IM) and PM synchronous motors (PMSM). The software accounts for the case of buried magnets (IPMSM), but with some limits, because the calculations require a much more detailed analysis regarding the magnetic circuit. However, this initial limitation of the software, that will be removed in a later version, does not constitute a major limitation as confirmed by the examples presented in this paper.
Parallel Behaviour – Primary Evidence of an Agreement

Abstract The distinction between legitimate oligopoly and cartels is tackled by each competition authority. A parallel behaviour in an oligopolistic market might be seen as an anchor for competition's effectiveness, given that companies are required to respond to the decisions of other competitors, trying to keep a realistic and competitive position to ensure welfare. Cartels offer an opposite perspective of what competition really means. Apart from the observation of the econometrical model presented in the article, the final assessment should consider the particularities of the legal and economic environment, to conclude on the existence of a cartel based on reasonable grounds.
Seat Competitiveness and Redistricting: Evidence from Voting on Municipal Mergers

We analyze how (anticipated) changes in the competitiveness of the seats of municipal councilors affect their voting behavior over municipal mergers. The competitiveness of the seats changes because the merger changes the composition of political competitors and the number of available seats in the next election. We use this variation for identification and find that the smaller the increase in the competitiveness of a councilor's seat, the more likely he is to vote for the merger. These effects are not related to the behavioral responses of the voters, but arise from the councilors’ desire to avoid electoral competition.

The efficacy and side effects of lactitol in the treatment of chronic hepatic encephalopathy was compared to that of other disaccharides in a meta-analysis of published randomized clinical trials (RCTs). The outcomes assessed were: (1) the rate of patients free from episodes of clinically detectable encephalopathy, and (2) the rate of patients free from one or more side effects in the different treatment groups. Four RCTs were eligible for analysis; in three lactitol was compared to lactulose, in one the alternative treatment was lactose in lactase-deficient patients. Tässä tutkimuksessa tarkasteltiin sitä, millaisena henkilökohtaisia blogeja ylläpitävät terveys- ja hyvinvointibloggaajat näkevät terveysviestinnän kentän ja omat positionsa siellä. Lisäksi selvi-tettiin, millaisena kanavana nämä bloggaajat kokevat blogit terveysviestinnässä. Tutkimuksessa haastateltiin kahdeksaa Blogilista.fi-sivuston perusteella Suomen luetuimpaa terveys- ja hyvinvointibloggaajaa. Aineistonkeruumenetelmänä käytettiin teemahaastatteluja ja tutkimusaineisto analysoitiin sekä teoriaohjaavaa että ainestolähtöistä sisällönanalyysia hyödyntäen.
