Potentiometric studies on azido complexes of the aquodimethyltin(IV) cation in aqueous solution

Summary Mono and polynuclear azide complexes of the aquodimethyltin(IV) cation have been studied in solution at [ClO 4 − ]=3.00 M , by e.m.f. measurements of [H + ], using the competitive reaction method. Throughout the entire range of data, 2.5≤−log[N 3 − ] free ≤4.9, the results are interpreted by assuming that the complexes {[(CH 3 ) 2 Sn] 3 [N 3 ] 3 } 3+ and [(CH 3 ) 2 Sn(N 3 ) 4 ] 2− predominate; the cumulative equilibrium constants for their formation are log β 33 =12.98±0.03 and log β 14 =2.45±0.02.
The complexation of tetraphenylborate with organic N-heteroaromatic cations

Complexation studies of eleven N-heteroaromatic cations with tetraphenylborate are reported. Tetraphenylborate forms complexes with five cations and reacts to form Lewis-base boranes with six cations. The complexes and the displacement reaction products were characterised by 1H NMR spectroscopy, elemental analysis and crystallographic methods. In the complexes C–H⋯π or N–H⋯π hydrogen bonds are the principal intermolecular interactions. The stability constants for the complexes are determined by 1H NMR titration in acetonitrile–methanol (1 ∶ 1) solution. Crystal structures of four of the complexes and three of the Lewis-base triphenylborane products are reported.

The interaction of the ferrocene-functionalised polyaza receptor 1,4,8,11-tetrakis(4-ferrocenyl-3-azabutyl)-1,4,8,11-tetraazacyclotetradecane (L1) with sulfate, phosphate and ATP has been studied potentiometrically in THF–water 70∶30 v/v (0.1 mol dm–3 tetrabutylammonium perchlorate, 25 °C). The molecular structure of the free receptor has been determined by single-crystal X-ray procedures. Two doses of propiverine ER (30 and 45 mg/d) are available for the treatment of overactive bladder (OAB) syndrome. We have explored factors associated with the initial dosing choice (allocation bias), the decision to adapt dosing (escalation bias) and how dosing relative to other factors affects treatment outcomes. Data from two non-interventional studies of 1335 and 745 OAB patients, respectively, receiving treatment with propiverine, were analyzed post-hoc. Multivariate analysis was applied to identify factors associated with dosing decisions and treatment outcomes. Abstract As 99mTcCa phytate is an important radiopharmaceutical and its colloidal nature presents problems, we investigated some of them. This work describes the study of the colloidal behaviour of the calcium phytate colloid in terms of its formation, stability and kinetics of flocculation. The study of spontaneous, and centrifugation-induced flocculation allows the determination of two critical concentrations of sol flocculation. The titrations of calcium phytate colloid at different concentrations provide information on the colloidal formation conditions. Moreover, a study on flocculation kinetics was made by turbidity measurements.

ABSTRACT: The hydrolysis of mixed-metal cations (Al3+/CH3Sn3+) was studied in aqueous solutions of NaNO3, at I = 1.00 ± 0.05 mol·dm−3 and T = 298.15 K, by potentiometric technique. Several hydrolytic mixed species are formed in this mixed system, namely, Alp(CH3Sn)q(OH)r with (p, q, r) = (1, 1, 4), (1, 1, 5), (1, 1, 6), (2, 1, 4), (1, 2, 5), (1, 4, 11), (1, 3, 8), and (7, 6, 32). The stability of these species, expressed by the equilibrium: pAl3+ + qCH3Sn3+ + rOH− = Alp(CH3Sn)q(OH)r 3(p+q)−r, βpqr OH, can be modeled by the empirical relationship: log βpqr OH = −3.34 + 2.67p + 9.23(q + r). International audience; In this paper, we compare the interactions between low methoxy pectin (LMP) and either Ca2+ or Zn2+ in semi-dilute solutions. Intrinsic viscosity and turbidity measurements reveal that pectin-calcium solutions are more viscous, but yet less turbid, than pectin-zinc ones. To get a molecular understanding on the origin of this rather unexpected behavior, we further performed isothermal titration calorimetry, small angle neutron scattering experiments, as well as molecular dynamics simulations. In the present work, "all-polymeric" gelling systems based on pectins and water-soluble maltose-conjugated chitosans (CM) have been developed. A cyclic pseudooctapeptide 2 is described containing 1,4-disubstituted 1,2,3-triazole moieties. This compound features eight converging hydrogen bond donors along the ring, namely four amide NH and four triazole CH groups, which enable 2 to engage in interactions with anions. AbstractThe speciation of CI−, OH− and SO42- in synthetic sea water has been studied by Potentiometric measurements (pH-metric and ISE-Na methods) and by literature data analysis, using a well tested complex formation model. Stability constants, together with distribution of hypothesised species in synthetic sea water, as a function of temperature and salinity, are reported. The speciation model proposed in this work is discussed on the basis of chemical and statistical considerations. Comparison with some literature sea water models is given.
