Experimental investigation of the kink effect and the low frequency noise properties in pseudomorphic HEMT’s

2005

The kink effect in low-noise pseudomorphic (AlGaAs/InGaAs) HEMT's has been examined in detail by investigating the steady-state and pulsed I-V characteristics, the behavior of the output conductance dispersion and the performance of the gate leakage current to understand its origin. No clear evidence of impact ionization occurrence in the InGaAs channel at kink bias conditions (V-DS.kink = 1.5 V) has been found, thus suggesting that the predominant mechanism should be attributed to trap-related phenomena. A significant rise of the gate current has been found at very high drain voltages (far from V-DS.kink) associated with low drain current values which is probably due to impact ionization o…

High Immunoglobulin A Levels Mediate the Association Between High Anger Expression and Low Somatic Symptoms in Intimate Partner Violence Perpetrators.

2014

It has been hypothesized that anger expression may be associated with increased salivary immunoglobulin A (sIgA) levels, which is associated with decreased somatic symptoms, and therefore anger expression may be associated with reduced somatic symptoms in intimate partner violence (IPV) perpetrators. This study tested the potential mediating effect of sIgA levels on the relationship between anger expression and respiratory and gastrointestinal symptoms in IPV perpetrators and non-violent controls. The sample consisted of IPV perpetrators ( n = 19) and controls ( n = 21). Saliva samples were collected for assessing sIgA levels. The State-Trait Anger Expression Inventory–2 was used to assess…

Proteins in preterm and term milk from mothers delivering appropriate or small-for-gestational age infants.

1986

The concentrations of total protein, secretory immunoglobulin A (IgA), lactotransferrin (LTF) and serum albumin (SA) were measured in sequential samples of colostrum, transitional and mature milk from 53 mothers divided into four groups according to gestational age and birthweight of their infants. Individual proteins were determined by single radial immunodiffusion. From the covariance analysis of data controlling for the day of lactation and the milk volume it was found that these covariables were significantly negative correlated with total protein and IgA. The concentration of LTF was also significantly negative correlated with the day but positively with the volume; whereas the contrar…

In Situ Observations of Ice Particle Losses in a Young Persistent Contrail

2018

We describe results of in situ observations of a 1 to 2-min old contrail in the vortex Phase generated from soot-rich exhaust (> 10^15 emitted soot particles per kg-fuel burned). Simultaneous measurements of soot (EIsoot) and apparent ice (AEIice) particle number emission indices show a pronounced anti-correlation in the vertical contrail profile. AEIice decrease by about 75% with increasing distance below the contrail-producing aircraft, while EIsoot increase by an equivalent relative fraction, therefore strongly suggesting sublimation causing the ice particle losses. Quantifying these losses in measurements helps to validate and improve contrail parameterizations used to estimate the clima…

Revisited BIA-MS combination: Entire "on-a-chip" processing leading to the proteins identification at low femtomole to sub-femtomole levels

2008

International audience; We present the results of a study in which biomolecular interaction analysis (BIA, Biacore 2000) was combined with mass spectrometry (MS) using entire "on-a-chip" procedure. Most BIA-MS studies included an elution step of the analyte prior MS analysis. Here, we report a low-cost approach combining Biacore analysis with homemade chips and MS in situ identification onto the chips without elution step. First experiments have been made with rat serum albumin to determine the sensitivity and validation of the concept has been obtained with an antibody/antigen couple. Our "on-a-chip" procedure allowed complete analysis by MS-MS of the biochip leading to protein identificat…

Quadrature coils for magnetic resonance spectroscopy in the detection of prostate cancer: Single voxel acquisition does not improve the diagnostic ac…

2011

Abstract Objective To determine the viability of quadrature coils for detecting prostate cancer using single voxel and multivoxel spectroscopy images. Material and methods We used a quadrature coil on a 1.5T MR scanner to evaluate 23 patients with suspected prostate cancer and prostate specific antigen levels greater than 4 ng/ml (mean 12 ± 8 ng/ml), independently of findings at digital rectal examination. We acquired T2-weighted images and MR spectroscopy images. We also acquired single voxel studies in areas in which the T2-weighted images or the multivoxel images were altered. We used a citrate solution to verify the spectroscopic calibration. Results Using spectroscopy images and a (Cho…

Filmowe rozmowy na ekranie i przed ekranem. O wieloaspektowej dialogiczności filmu

2020
