ThisEnterobacteriaceaespecies is genetically heterogeneous and is currently subdivided into seven phylogroups (Ko1 to Ko4, Ko6 to Ko8). Here we investigated the taxonomic status of phylogroups Ko3 and Ko4. Genomic sequence-based phylogenetic analyses demonstrate that Ko3 and Ko4 formed well-defined sequence clusters related to, but distinct from,Klebsiella michiganensis(Ko1),Klebsiella oxytoca(Ko2),K. huaxiensis(Ko8) andK. grimontii(Ko6). The hindgut of 'lower' termites harbors a dense population of flagellates and bacteria. The flagellates possess ecto- and endosymbiotic prokaryotes. Most of them are hardly visible in the phase contrast microscope. Staining with the DNA-intercalating agent ethidium bromide visualizes the nuclei of the flagellates as well as the ecto- and endosymbiotic bacteria as red objects. Furthermore, it is possible to distinguish between endosymbiotic methanogens and other bacteria. Do Powerful CEOs Have an Impact on Microfinance Performance?

In this study we show that Microfinance Institutions (MFIs) with more powerful CEOs have higher performance variability. A powerful CEO is defined as one that also chairs the board of directors. CEO power is reflected in higher performance variability if CEOs have more latitude of action, i.e. managerial discretion. Managerial discretion can be limited by having stakeholder electives on the board. We find that CEO power only has an effect on MFI performance variability when there are no stakeholder electives on the board. A theoretical basis for the high-frequency performance of the outer hair cell’s receptor potential

The frequency response of the outer hair cell (OHC) was studied theoretically. An electrical model of the OHC was analyzed mathematically, taking into account the effect of its inherent voltage-dependent capacitance. It was found that the variations of the capacitance dependent on the membrane potential could enhance the high-frequency response of the OHC, so that its cutoff frequency could be extended into the audio range. It was found further that the enhancement of the frequency response of the OHC was strongly dependent on its resting potential and on the ratio of the maximum voltage-dependent capacitance to the membrane linear capacitance.

The use of Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitors is a new approach in the therapy of inflammatory diseases with immune base. Tofacitinib is one of these inhibitors targeting JAK1 and JAK3, and its efficacy has been demonstrated in the treatment of moderate to severe ulcerative colitis (UC). It is a small synthetic molecule administered orally, with a fast bioavailability and elimination rate, predictable pharmacokinetics and lack of immunogenicity, which are convenient characteristics for both efficacy and safety. This article reviews the pharmacological characteristics of tofacitinib and its safety profile.
Stability and surgical complications of tooth-borne and bone-borne appliances in surgical assisted rapid maxillary expansion: a systematic review

The objective of this systematic review was to evaluate the stability and complications of tooth-borne (TB), bone-borne (BB) and hybrid (TB-BB) appliances in surgically assisted rapid maxillary expansion (SARME). Database searches were conducted (PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library and SciELO), as well as a grey literature search (Google Scholar) and hand searches of reference lists. Forty-six articles were included after study selection (κ=0.854). After eligibility assessment, 16 articles and one article from the grey literature were processed (κ=0.866) and six articles were selected by hand searching, for a total of 23 articles included. A compact prototype device for diagnostic imaging of skin has been developed and tested. Polarized LED light at several spectral regions is used for illumination, and round skin spot of diameter 30mm is imaged by a CMOS sensor via crossoriented polarizing filter.
