Urban 3-D models for plannig of mobile telephony systems

This paper deals with an application of numerical cartography, carried out by means of digital photogrammetry techniques, aimed at the planning of mobile telephony cells. Particularly, urban 3-D vector models (wireframe), got by digital restitution and integrated by raster images referred to rectified buildings facades, were carried out in a sample area selected inside the Orleans Park, seat of the Palermo University. Then such models were processed by computer graphics techniques owing to the operations of rendering and animation. These 3-D representations could come in very useful for study and planning of mobile telephony networks in urban areas.

Actual evapotranspiration is assessed via surface energy balance at an hourly rate. However, a robust estimation of daily evapotranspiration from hourly values is required. Outcomes of surface energy balance are frequently determined via measures of eddy covariance latent heat flux. Surface energy balance can be applied on images acquired at different times and spatial resolutions. In addition, hourly actual evapotranspiration needs to be integrated at a daily rate for operational uses. Abstract High-throughput mapping of latent heat flux (λET) is critical to efforts to optimize water resources management and to accelerate forest tree breeding for improved drought tolerance. Ideally, investigation of the energy response at the tree level may promote tailored irrigation strategies and, thus, maximize crop biomass productivity. This paper describes the historical evidence (middle-imperial age and late antiquity) of rural communities in the Amone site, territory of Carini (Palermo). To study this site, identified by the archaeological survey, it was used a special methodological choice based on the division of the area (10 hectares) in smaller peripheral units, defined by the property lines of each field, which allows a more accurate positioning of ancient remains. Lo studio presenta la carta archeologica di Agrigento, che comprende sia l'area urbana dell'antica Akragas, sia il suburbio, redatta sulla base di una prospezione intensiva e sistematica. La carta è inserita in un SIT appositamente redatto, che su molteplici livelli informativi permetterà la gestione di tutti i dati relativi ai beni archeologici compresi nel Parco e sarà strumento principe per gli interventi di ricerca, tutela e valorizzazione.
