Influence of carotid tortuosity on internal carotid artery access time in the treatment of acute ischemic stroke

Purpose Carotid artery anatomy is thought to influence internal carotid artery access time (ICA-AT) in patients requiring mechanical thrombectomy for acute ischemic stroke. This study investigates the association between ICA-AT and carotid anatomy. Material and methods Computed tomography angiography (CTA) data of 76 consecutive patients presenting with acute ischemic stroke requiring mechanical thrombectomy for middle cerebral artery or carotid T occlusion were evaluated. Highlights • Aerobic fitness level, but not physical activity, is related to white matter properties in the brain. • The relation between physical activity and working memory is moderated by fractional anisotropy (FA) of the corpus callosum. • The FA of the corpus callosum and superior corona radiata moderates the relation between aerobic fitness and working memory.

Latvijas Republikas Autortiesību likumā ir iestrādāti punkti, kas ir saistīti ar taisnīgas reprogrāfiskās reproducēšanas īstenošanu, tomēr praksē atlīdzību izmaksāšana autoriem nenotiek. Pētījuma mērķis ir analizēt reprogrāfiskās reproducēšanas jautājumus regulējošo tiesisko bāzi un noskaidrot, kāpēc netiek īstenota Autortiesību likumā noteiktā atlīdzību izmaksāšana. Darba gaitā analizēti trīs starptautiskie dokumenti, Latvijas un četri citu valstu nacionālie autortiesību likumi, kā arī intervēti biedrības “LATREPRO” un Kultūras ministrijas pārstāvji. Mappings of finite distortion from generalized manifolds

We give a definition for mappings of finite distortion from a generalized manifold with controlled geometry to a Euclidean space. We prove that the basic properties of mappings of finite distortion are valid in this context. In particular, we show that under the same assumptions as in the Euclidean case, mappings of finite distortion are open and discrete.
