OSSERVAZIONI SULLA FORTUNA E I FRAINTENDIMENTI DEL TRACTATUS LOGICO-PHILOSOPHICUS A CENT’ANNI DALLA SUA PUBBLICAZIONE
2022
Starting with a suggestion, the similarity between Wittgenstein and Montaigne, this article reconstructs a quick history of the substantial misunderstanding that, despite his enormous success, characterized the "Tractatus logico-philosophicus" and the role of ethical issue in this book.
“Facts Are Grasped by Us in Pictures (PT, 2.1). Remarks on Pictures and Facts in Wittgenstein’s Tractatus
2023
This paper proposes a (re)reading of the famous section in the Tractatus Logico-philosophicus, 2.1: “We picture facts to ourselves” and its relation to the similar section in the Prototractatus, 2.1: “Facts are grasped by us in images”. We reject the dominant solution that interprets the relation between facts and images as an isomorphic relation and propose that instead it is an internal relation: there are no facts that are not perceived through images. In other words: For us, linguistic animals, there is no world independent of language.
Solipsisme i trascendentalitat en el Tractatus
1986
2014
The opening remarks of the Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus seem to outline the bases of an atomistic ontological theory. For the resolute interpreters, such an ontology should be considered as mere part of the set of nonsensical propositions that make up the parody of a semantic theory. However, resolute readers share with the traditional views an essentialist reading of the ontological section, according to which Wittgenstein's remarks are intended to build up a real, though parodistic, atomistic ontology. By contrast, textual evidence supports the idea that the basic notion of Wittgenstein’s ontology, i.e. the notion of object, should be considered as an intra-linguistic, rather t…

2021
Between the 13th and 14th centuries, a number of cities in the inchoative papal state experimented a system of self-government that allowed the Guelph and Ghibelline factions, formally represented in those same bodies on an equal footing, to work alongside the more strictly communal magistracies. The case of Todi is rather well known, given the role that Bartolo da Sassoferrato assigns to it in his Tractatus de guelphis et gebellinis (ca. 1350), but current research has already ascertained that this political tradition appeared at least around 1260. Some evidence can suggest, however, that some form of integration of factions into the local institutional framework was possible elsewhere, an…
Are images in the Tractatus isomorphic to facts?
2010
The notion of image (Bild) is a fundamental one in the Tractatus. This notion is immediately introduced in the text after the brief ontological section, because it serves to give an account in logical terms of our relationship with the world. The relationship between fact and image is generally considered a relationship governed by a form of isomorphism. Here I want to maintain that it is not a matter isomorphism, but instead of homomorphism.
La teoría del conocimiento en el "Tractatus"
1993
