Against a background of anxious evocation of Dionysiac rites, Euripides’ Heracles stages the extreme degradation of the tragic hero, who as a consequence of the hatred of a divinity loses his heroic traits and above all his human ones in the exercise of brutal violence. By means of comparing Heracles to a furious bull assailing its prey, the tragedian clearly shows the inexorability of the divine will and its arbitrariness, and emphasizes madness itself through images traditionally associated with the bull. Elokuvissa ja erityisesti angloamerikkalaisissa elokuvissa kuvataan itsemurhaa usein. Niiden representaatiot heijastelevat kulttuurisia käsityksiä itsemurhasta, mutta myös itsenäisesti vaikuttavat käsitysten syntymiseen. Tässä artikkelissa tarkastelen Ari Asterin folk-kauhugenreä edustavaa elokuvaa Midsommar – loputon yö (2019). Elokuvassa sisarensa tekemää murha-itsemurhaa sureva Dani matkustaa Yhdysvalloista Ruotsiin fiktiiviseen Hårga-kommuuniin poikaystävänsä ja tämän ystävien kanssa. Resum: Una llegenda medieval fon dos personatges literaris: el Judes dels evangelis i l’Èdip clàssic de la tragèdia de Sòfocles, de manera que ens trobem un Judes que, a més dels pecats que ja li coneixíem (traïció, avarícia, mentida, satanisme, suïcidi etc.), comet dues transgressions “edípiques”: el parricidi –mata el seu pare- i l’incest –es casa amb sa mare-. En aquest article fem un seguiment de la tradició textual d’aquesta fussió, del s. XII al XVI, en especial a través de les “passions” teatrals occitanes i catalanes, la Legenda aurea de Varazze i algunes referències de sant Vicent Ferrer i Francesc Eiximenis.

¿Qué hubiera sido de Edipo sin Aristóteles y sin Freud?

Edipo rey, de Sófocles, no se hubiera convertido en una tragedia “modélica” si no hubiera gozado de una amplia y reconocida recepción, sobre todo, por parte dos de sus intérpretes más decisivos e influyentes: Aristóteles y Freud. En este artículo analizamos los principales argumentos que ofrece Aristóteles en la Poética: a) la forma más apropiada de reconocimiento; b) el uso del coro; c) la argumentación verosímil; d) la concentración necesaria. Freud descubre en esta tragedia una estructura antropológica del deseo inconsciente de los seres humanos. Holidays play a vital role in the configuration of our life. Our most profound expectances are posed to this magic moment. However, under some contexts, what starts as a dream ends in a nightmare. It is unfortunate this is the case of victims of Villa Gesell’s tragedy, resulted when a ray impacted directly to a beach. Nobody is immune of tragedy, even at holidays. This essay review explores not only the anthropological roots of risk and paradise, but also the journalist discourse to cover the event. Far from the general opinion, disasters affect tourism, we strongly believe it strengths its attractiveness.
Political Action Beyond Resistance: Arendt and "Revolutionary Spirit" in Egypt

The article examines what it calls the "politics-as-resistance" frame in contemporary political theory, originating in the works of Michel Foucault and Judith Butler. This way of organizing political experience is contrasted with Hannah Arendt's political thought, particularly her writings on revolutionary action. Arendt's often overlooked – and partly unpublished – passages on virtù and fortuna are further suggested as important additions to her thinking on action. I argue that Arendt's "world-centric" approach can illuminate certain aspects of political experience that remain dimmed in the more subject-oriented politics-as-resistance frame. Traditionally it has been considered that the change in the configuration of the character of Helen in Euripides does not take place until its tragedy Helen . This is, without doubt, the central work in which the redefinition and positivation of Helen will reach a full theatrical development. We think, with everything, that a more attentive reading of the motives used in previous tragedies gives us the key for the correct interpretation of the innovations that the author is introducing in the tragic characterization of this mythical figure. This process can be fixed in a convulsed period in the Athenian life, which goes from Nicias’s Peace to Euripides’ definitive march of Athens.
