Diabetes and insulin resistance are associated with the development of cardiovascular and nervous diseases. The development of these disorders reflects complex pathological processes in which the oxidative stress caused by reactive oxygen species (ROS) and reactive nitrogen species (RNS) plays a pivotal role. It is widely accepted that diabetes impairs endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS) activity and increases the production of ROS, thus resulting in diminished NO bioavailability and increased oxidative stress. Les souches d'E. coli résistantes aux antibiotiques

National audience; Le projet "CIREC" vise à étudier la prévalence et la caractérisation des souches d’E.coli productrices de β-lactamase à spectre élargi (BLSE) de type CTX-M dans les eaux usées et les boues issues d’une quarantaine de stations d’épuration (STEP) de la région Bourgogne. Puis, il s’agira d’identifier et caractériser les voies possibles de transfert de ces souches, les rejets d’effluents traités des STEP dans les rivières pouvant avoir des conséquences sur la contamination de la faune aquatique d’eau douce.

Parmi les bactéries multi-résistantes, les entérobactéries productrices de β-lactamase à spectre élargi (BLSE) occupent une place croissante. Parmi celles-ci, c’est Escherichia coli (entérobactérie commensale du tube digestif de l’homme et de l’animal) qui est l’espèce la plus concernée par cette production enzymatique. International audience; Les études consacrées à la synthèse, par réaction solide-solide, du titanate de baryum (BaTiO3) ont montré l'importance des propriétés physicochimiques des solides initiaux (BaCO3 et TiO2) sur les propriétés du titanate obtenu. Lors de l'élaboration de céramiques diélectriques, il est en effet nécessaire d'éviter la formation de phases intermédiaires (Ba2TiO4, BaTi4O9, ...) qui nuisent à leurs propriétés diélectriques. International audience; Near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy was evaluated as a rapid method for the determination of oleic, palmitic, linoleic and linolenic acids as well as omega-3, omega-6, and to predict polyunsaturated, monounsaturated and saturated fatty acids, together with triacylglycerides, diglycerides, free fatty acids and ergosterol in salmon oil. Focusing on its spatial diffusion and on its control with pesticides, this paper investigates the private strategies of wine producers and their socially optimal counterparts. This study is based on an inventory of iron knives dated from the 8th to the 5th centuries BC and discovered in funerary and settlement sites in the South-West of France. The corpus consists of 608 artefacts. We established a typology allowing us to present a chronological and spatial distribution of each type. We then tried to determine the functions of the knives according to their type and their length. For those discovered in graves other objects in the grave assemblage were used as an additional criterion. When the funerary context was very clearly defined, we tried to determine the function, in the grave itself, of the knives.
Fast prototyping of parallel image processing applications using functional skeletons

We present SKiPPER, a software dedicated to the fast prototyping of vision algorithms on MIMD/DM platforms. This software is based upon the concept of algorithmic skeletons, i.e. higher order program constructs encapsulating recurring forms of parallel computations and hiding their low-level implementation details. Examples of such skeletons in low- to mid-level image processing include such as geometric decompositions, data or task farming.
