The asymmetric insertion of amphiphiles into biological membranes compromises the balance between the inner and outer monolayers. As a result, area expansion of the receiving leaflet and curvature strain may lead to membrane permeation, shape changes, or membrane fusion events. We have conducted both atomistic and coarse-grained molecular dynamics simulations of dipalmitoyl-phosphatidylcholine (DPPC) bilayers to study the effect of an asymmetric distribution of lipids between the two monolayers on membrane stability. Reactions of divalent metal salts of Co, Ni and Zn with 1,2-di(salicylaldimino-o-phenylthio) ethane (H2L1) and 1,2-di(naphthaldimino-o-phenylthio) ethane (H2L2), having N2O2S2 cores, and 1,2-di(O-salicylaldimino-o-hydroxyphenyl) ethane (H2L3), having a N2O4 core, have been explored. Out of the three ligands and the nine products obtained from the corresponding reactions, two ligands and seven products were crystallographically characterized. Gramatiskās transformācijas Oskara Vailda pasaku tulkojumos krievu valodā

Bakalaura darbs ir izstrādāts, lai apzinātu gramatiskās pārmaiņas Oskara Vailda pasaku tulkojumiem uz krievu valodu. Tēma tika izvēlēta, jo pēdējā laikā, analizējot daiļliteratūras prozu tulkojumus no angļu valodas uz krievu valodu, mēs saskaramies ar daudzām nesakritībām, jo īpaši gramatikā. Šīs tēmas izvēli noteica nepieciešamība analizēt tieši šī žanra tulkojumus, kā arī konkrētā autora stilu. Gramatisko pārvērtību salīdzinošā analīze, kura tiek izmantota daiļliteratūras tulkošanā no angļu uz krievu valodu, šobrīd ir ļoti būtiska valodas apguvei, īpaši pasaku žanram. Rezultāts ir pierādīt, ka ar gramatisko pārmaiņu palīdzību, tulkotājs autentiski pauž tulkotā teksta nozīmi.

We consider Lie groups equipped with arbitrary distances. We only assume that the distance is left-invariant and induces the manifold topology. For brevity, we call such object metric Lie groups. Apart from Riemannian Lie groups, distinguished examples are sub-Riemannian Lie groups and, in particular, Carnot groups equipped with Carnot-Carath\'eodory distances. We study the regularity of isometries, i.e., distance-preserving homeomorphisms. Our first result is the analyticity of such maps between metric Lie groups. Carbon nitride as photocatalyst in organic selective transformations

Abstract Graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4) is a metal-free conjugated polymer which has become a new research hotspot in photocatalysis. It can be used for solar energy exploitation like in solar energy organic synthesis, one of the most new and appealing green applications of heterogeneous photocatalysis. This chapter resumes the state-of-the-art and progresses in the application of heterogeneous visible light photocatalysis in organic selective transformations by using C3N4 as photocatalyst.

The reaction of 3-benzoyl-5-perfluoroalkyl-1,2,4-oxadiazoles with hydrazine has been investigated, evidencing the possibility of competitive reaction paths. Nucleophilic addition of the hydrazine to the electrophilic C(5) of the 1,2,4-oxadiazole ring, followed by ring opening and ring closure with enlargement, leads with high yield and in very mild experimental conditions to the formation of Z-oximes of 3-perfluoroalkyl-6-phenyl-2H-1,2,4-triazin-5-ones (11a-c) as major products of the reaction.
