N,N-Diallylglycidylamine: A Key Monomer for Amino-Functional Poly(ethylene glycol) Architectures

The first application of N,N-diallylglycidylamine (DAGA) as a monomer for anionic ring-opening polymerization is presented. The monomer is obtained in a one-step procedure using epichlorohydrin and N,N-diallylamine. Both random and block copolymers consisting of poly(ethylene glycol) and poly(N,N-diallylglycidylamine) with adjusted DAGA ratios from 2.5 to 24% have been prepared, yielding well-defined materials with low polydispersities (Mw/Mn) in the range 1.04–1.19. Cutinases: Characteristics and Insights in Industrial Production

Cutinases (EC 3.1.1.74) are serin esterases that belong to the α/β hydrolases superfamily and present in the Ser-His-Asp catalytic triad. They show characteristics between esterases and lipases. These enzymes hydrolyze esters and triacylglycerols and catalyze esterification and transesterification reactions. Cutinases are synthesize by plant pathogenic fungi, but some bacteria and plants have been found to produce cutinases as well. In nature they facilitate a pathogen’s invasion by hydrolyzing the cuticle that protects plants, but can be also used for saprophytic fungi as a way to nourish themselves. Two-Photon Absorption Properties and Structures of BODIPY and Its Dyad, Triad and Tetrad.

A series consisting of a dyad, a triad and a tetrad containing either two, three and four BODIPY units, respectively, has been synthesized and fully characterized and compared to two mono-BODIPY analogs (used as references). The one- and two-photon photophysical properties have been measured and the X-ray structures of four of the BODIPY derivatives have been determined. In the 700-900 nm range, the two-photon absorption (TPA) cross sections range from 30 GM to 160 GM for these compounds.

Abstract. The purpose of the present study was to examine the relationships between the personality traits of the Dark Triad, the moral judgment level, and the students’ disciplinary choice. It was hypothesized that students who major in higher business and management education show higher levels of the Dark Triad and lower levels of moral judgment competence (self-selection hypothesis). According to the indoctrination hypothesis it was assumed that the differences between business and management students and other students would be higher in advanced semesters. Despite growing prevalence of derogatory online behaviors, still little is known about psychological factors underlying this negative phenomenon. In the present study, we aimed to compare characteristics of persons who post hating and non-hating comments about Polish sports players during Winter Olympic Games in Pyeongchang (2018) on the Internet. Ninety-four Internet users (41% women) participated in the study, among which 46 posted hating comments. Abstract Line intensities of the three lowest fundamentals of the 12CH3D Triad are modeled with an RMS of 3.2% using over 2100 observed values retrieved by multispectrum fitting of enriched sample spectra recorded with two Fourier transform spectrometers. The band strengths of the Triad in units of 10−18 cm−1/(molecule cm−2) at 296 K are, respectively, 2.33 for ν6 (E) at 1161 cm−1, 1.75 for ν3 (A1) at 1307 cm−1 and 0.571 for ν5 (E) at 1472 cm−1. The total calculated absorption arising from 12CH3D Triad fundamentals is 4.65×10−18 cm−1/(molecule cm−2) at 296 K.
