Impact of non-programmable distributed generation in an islanded microgrid: the case study of Ustica

The paper presents a systematic analysis of nonprogrammable distributed generation impact in an islanded microgrid Different issues have been analyzed, with a special focus on the most significant ones in a small islanded network. To this aim, the case study of Ustica island was considered A digital twin of the MV network was developed starting from the network topology data and the power measurement acquired in each secondary substation. Simulations were then performed in the hypothesis of a large increment of distributed generation installation into the network. A discussion is then reported on which are the main technical issues to be faced in the considered case study.
Newspapers and Cross-Level Communications on Social Media : A comparative study of Japan, Korea, and Finland

In order to examine how the same types of social media are perceived and utilized in different national contexts for journalism and news media, we studied mainstream newspapers in three countries where both newspapers and social media are viable: Japan, Korea, and Finland. Our in-depth interviews with journalists indicate both similarities and differences in the three countries. The most outstanding similarity is that newspapers have not fully incorporated cross-level communications available on social media platforms. Abstract The Sediment Delivery Distributed (SEDD) model combines the universal soil loss equation (USLE) or the revised universal soil loss equation (RUSLE) with a sediment delivery ratio to predict basin sediment yield. The model was applied to seven Sicilian basins, ranging in size from 20 to 213 km2 . Each basin has a reservoir located at its outlet. The model was applied to each basin using a raster scheme, and a subroutine of ArcInfo software to identify the hydraulic path linking each hillslope cell to the nearest stream cell, and to calculate both the travel time and the sediment delivery ratio of each cell.
