2017
During his archaeological missions the Museum of Prehistoric Anthropology tested the 3D modelling of several typesof objects. His team chose the ‘Structure-from-Motion’ (SfM) method which works according the basic principle of stereoscopicphotogrammetry, namely that 3D structure can be resolved from two or more overlapping, offset images. Most of other methodscapable of surveying, at high resolution, often complex objects and landforms are very expensive and have a difficult portability.Using only a consumer-grade digital camera and a scale on the ground, the user moves through the environment, acquiringphotographs of the area of interest from as many locations and perspectives as possible.…
J. V. Foix: Avantguarda, poesia i arquitectura. Foix a la V Triennal d’Arquitectura, Milà 1933
2016

L'ARBITRAGE ENTREPRISE / MARCHE : LE ROLE DU CONTROLE INTERNE
2001
2007
The role of the Madden-Julian Oscillation ("MJO") on rainfall variability in Sub-Saharan Africa is examined, based on daily rain-gauge records and the NCEP-DOE AMIP-II reanalyses. The convective and dynamical signal associated with the MJO is extracted using two differing methodologies, the BMRC daily indices (Wheeler & Hendon 2004) on the one hand, and a Local Mode Analysis ("LMA", Goulet & Duvel 2000) on the other hand. The temporal variability of the MJO (in terms of period, amplitude, seasonality and location of the convective anomalies) is first analysed. Though the overall amplitude of the signal is not related to El Niño, the oscillations occurring under El Niño (La Niña) conditions …
2011
This study evaluates the capability of the regional climate model WRF to simulate Southern African rainfall and associated atmospheric circulation, particularly over South Africa, a country covered by a dense network of in situ observations. Three sets of simulations are performed at a 35km horizontal resolution during the core of the austral rainy season (December to February: DJF) with 6-hourly forcings provided by ERA40 reanalysis. The first set quantifies sensitivity of the simulated climate to the parameterizations of atmospheric convection, planetary boundary layer and microphysics. The retained case study (DJF 1993-1994: DJF94) is representative of the South African rainfall climatol…
A trie-based approach for compacting automata
2004
International audience; We describe a new technique for reducing the number of nodes and symbols in automata based on tries. The technique stems from some results on anti-dictionaries for data compression and does not need to retain the input string, differently from other methods based on compact automata. The net effect is that of obtaining a lighter automaton than the directed acyclic word graph (DAWG) of Blumer et al., as it uses less nodes, still with arcs labeled by single characters.

Facilitators of and Barriers to Sustainable Development in Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises: A Descriptive Exploratory Study in Romania
2021
In the context of growing concerns regarding the deterioration of the environment and the increase in social inequalities, the concept of sustainability emerged as a response of companies, in order to contribute to community goodwill. The drivers and obstacles for the businesses engaging in sustainable policies have been explored at large by scientific literature. However, research gaps were observed, namely regarding SMEs, that tend to have a less formal and more fragmented approach to sustainability. The goal of our study is to determine the main barriers and facilitators for sustainability that Romanian SMEs face, and the connections between them and with the firms’ characteristics. Our …
