This working paper attempts to shed light on distributional effects of recent fiscal consolidation policies, mainly through the channel of in-kind public transfers. We look at the distribution of income in 16 EU countries during the recent global financial and economic crisis, and the subsequent period of fiscal consolidation. Experiences in terms of the depth of the recession and the policies implemented to deal with vary greatly across EU countries. A widely abundant and invasive forest shrub, Eupatorium adenophorum, was pyrolyzed in a cost-efficient flame curtain kiln to produce biochar. The resulting biochar fulfilled all the requirements for premium quality, according to the European Biochar Certificate. The biochar was either applied alone or mixed with fresh cow urine (1:1 volume) to test its capacity to serve as slow release fertilizer in a pumpkin field trial in Nepal. The purpose of this study is to analyse the effect of the perceived utility of a management control system with a broad scope on the use of food waste information and on financial and non-financial performances in restaurants. To collect data, a questionnaire was administered in Brazilian restaurants. Data from 206 restaurants were analysed with structural equation modelling, which was performed with SmartPLS software. Bread is largely consumed and could be used as a carrier for different nutrients. Fibers play an important role in human nutrition but the bread are depleted in this nutrient. For fibers, supplementation could be used different sources. The fibers needed to be tested before their use in breadmaking. This work investigates how some commercial fibers (Exafine, Apple AF12, Potato KF 200, Oat HF 200 and Wheat WF400) influence the rheology of dough at 10 and 15 % addition. The bioavailability of iron from fortified fruit beverages was estimated by an in vitro system including enzymatic digestion, iron uptake by Caco-2 cells, and ferritin formation determined via an enzyme immunoassay (ELISA). Thus, the aim of the present study was to assess iron bioavailability as influenced by the presence of known dietary promoter and inhibitory factors in fortified fruit beverages containing iron and/or zinc and/or skimmed milk.
