Textile conservation has given rise to small and medium-sized museums, usually with scarce resources. In Sicily, the little evidence that remains of silk production and opulent imports by the rich and powerful local aristocracy is kept in museums, parishes, and other cultural institutions. The documentation, dissemination, and enhancement of such a fragile heritage is today possible by means of technological tools that provide novel means to preserve, analyze, and exploit digital information. Presently, the European Union strategies aim at strengthening the rural areas that are characterized by a deep depopulation, people aging, and a weak employment market. In these "marginalized" areas, the urban regeneration process may be assisted by the creation of smart villages, realities that will cooperate and create innovative small towns. Bakalaura darba tēma ir "Nacionālās identitātes aspekti Latvijas Trešās atmodas sociālajā atmiņā: Latvijā dzīvojošo latviešu un trimdas latviešu atmiņstāstu analīze”. Darba mērķis ir noskaidrot, kā tiek konstruēta un uzturēta nacionālā identitāte un kā tā atspoguļojas Trešās atmodas sociālajā atmiņā. Pētījuma problēma ir komplicētais nacionālās identitātes konstruēšanas process, kas nelabvēlīgu ārēju apstākļu ietekmē var veicināt identitātes fragmentāciju.
