Ever since its inception, friction stir welding (FSW) is being validated by scientific investigations as an effective substitution for fusion-based conventional joining technologies. One of the main strengths of FSW is the possibility to produce dissimilar joints, even using materials extremely different in terms of thermal and mechanical properties. Our initial perspective is that the dynamics of territories and cities/towns that are tourist resorts (or aspire to being one) can be analysed from the point of view of the ‘population’ concept, dear to a certain trend in socio-spatial analysis. A simple field method to measure the hydrodynamic properties of soil surface crust

The hydraulic resistance of the surface crust was determined by a combination of two infiltrometric techniques: first, a surface measurement of steady-state infiltration rate is conducted by a mini-disk tension infiltrometer (MDI); then, the surface crust is removed, its thickness is measured, and a ponded infiltration test is performed at the same site. Abstract The Spanish economy was the most hit by the Great Recession. It suffered a greater decrease in the gross domestic product (GDP) (affecting especially internal demand). However, it suffered a greater increase in exports (the so-called Spanish “miracle”). Particularly, Spanish SMEs incorporation into exports has been spectacular since 2008. Further, this has coincided with a huge increase in unemployment. This paper examines the restructuring of the Spanish financial system. This study is justified by the massive economic and social impact of this process in Spain. Based on the annual accounts and the annual reports of Spanish credit institutions, a model was created to predict the possibility of bank failure or bailout. The variables were selected following a review of the literature. They included the legal form of the credit institution (savings bank versus bank), leverage, real estate investment, gross operating margin, staff costs and non-performing loans.
