Abstract Classical approaches to layout design problem tend to maximise the efficiency of layout, measured by the handling cost related to the interdepartmental flow and to the distance among the departments. However, the actual problem involves several conflicting objectives hence requiring a multi-objective formulation. Using Cloud, Modularity, and Make-to-Upgrade Strategy for Integrating Customized-Oriented Supply Networks

In the current global business individual demand play crucial roles. Customized-oriented supply networks are being proliferated in manufacturing industries, yet integration of their members is still quite challenging. As a practical solution, in this paper a new collaborative approach out of modularity structure, cloud computing, and a novel production strategy, called Make-to-Upgrade (MTU), is suggested. The complementary aspects of these techniques are highlighted and briefly explained here. MTU is as a strategy for future products with new characteristics, e.g., upgradability.

Mental Account Barriers and Transaction Purpose: A Romanian Point of View

Abstract The present study encompasses the behavioral model of decision making. Using the models provided by scientific literature, the relationship between the basic structure of mental accounts, transaction utility and consumer decision, together with perceived comfortability. The procedure was carried out using undergraduate students of Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu, with similar proportions of sexes and with resembling ages. The preglacial sedimentary sequence, deposited in a marine environment, is characterized by a typical "layer-cake" configuration of permeable (sand) and impermeable (clays and early-cemented sandstones) layers. Determinants of user behaviour and recommendation in social networks

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to analyse the determinants of social network use behaviour using Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB) and Uses and Gratifications Theory. Design/methodology/approach – A quantitative study was carried out with data gathered by personal interview using a structured questionnaire. Bread making with Saccharomyces cerevisiae CEN.PK113-5D expressing lipase A from Bacillus subtilis: Leavening characterisation and aroma enhancement

Summary Lipase A from Bacillus subtilis was expressed in the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae CEN.PK113-5D strain as a cell wall-immobilised enzyme. The recombinant yeast was used in bread making to test the effect of lipase A on the bread properties such as rheological and aromatic properties. The results were compared to the not transformed strain and the commercial baker's yeast.
