International audience; In the field of industrial vision, the three-dimensional inspection of highly reflective metallic objects is still a delicate task. We deal with a new automated three-dimensional inspection system based on polarization analysis. We first present an extension of the shape-from-polarization method for dielectric surfaces to metallic surfaces. Physico-chemical characterisation of a non-conventional food protein source from earthworms and sensory impact in arepas

International audience; This study aimed to characterise a non-conventional protein source: a powder made from earthworms, and to evaluate its potential use as human food. The way it was prepared led to low solubility and wide particle size distribution. Sensory analysis was used to assess the acceptability and the organoleptic properties of maize-based pan-cakes fortified with this novel protein powder. Satisfying products were obtained with a substitution level of 5.5% (w/w) earthworm powder in pan-cakes. A Power Law Behavior in the Incentivized Italian Photovoltaic Market

The Italian photovoltaic (PV) marketis analyzed by using the data contained in the database that describes all PV Plants installed in Italy under the incentive program called “2nd Conto Energia”. It is shown that the cumulative probability distribution of the size of the installed PV plants has a broken power tail. An approach to partially quantify the effect of the economic, juridical and technical rules is introduced in order to show how the regulatory body influences the power tail of the cumulative probability curve.
