Facebook ja identiteetti : lukiolaisten kokemuksia Facebookin käytöstä
2015
Mediakulttuurin väitetään olevan avainasemassa jäsentämässä nykyisiä identiteettejä ja muotoilemassa ajattelua ja käyttäytymistä erityisesti nuorten keskuudessa. Tutkimuksessa tarkasteltiin lukiolaisten Facebookin käyttötottumuksia ja pyrittiin selvittämään miten henkilöt rakentavat identiteettiään Facebookin avulla. Tutkimusaineisto kerättiin teemahaastattelua hyödyntäen keväällä 2010, jolloin haastateltiin kuutta lukioikäistä nuorta. He olivat iältään 17–18- vuotiaita. Lisäksi 20 oppilasta osallistuivat kirjoitelmien tekoon, jossa olin valmiiksi antanut heille otsikon nimeltä ”Minä ja Facebook”. Tutkielman teoreettisena näkökulmana oli Thomas Ziehen ajatus nuorten identiteettityöstä jatku…

Päiväkodeissa muutoksia on lähdetty ratkaisemaan rakenne- ja toiminta-ympäristömuutoksilla. Yhteisöjen kyky vuorovaikutukselliseen oppimiseen edistää työntekijän hyvinvointia, mikä puol…

Distributed leadership in Finnish and Shanghai schools
2016
The present research employed mixed-methods approach to further theorise distributed leadership and to investigate its manifestations in Finnish and Shanghai schools. The meta-analysis identified two main research paradigms: the descriptive-analytical paradigm and the prescriptive-normative paradigm. It also yielded a resource–agency duality model of distributed leadership. In this model, distributed leadership is seen as a process with both organisational and individual perspectives. From the …

Framing Social Work Discourses of Violence Against Women. Insights From Finland and India
2021
Violence against women (VAW) is a global social problem. In India, its high prevalence is connected to gender inequality, whereas Finland suffers from the so-called Nordic Paradox—that is, the existence of both gender equality and a high prevalence of VAW. This qualitative study employed a critical constructioniist approach and frame analysis to analyze data from interviews with Finnish (n =20) and Mumbai (n =18) social workers. We asked how social workers frame their response to VAW and how ways of framing elucidate institutional practices that facilitate the interventions. Anti-oppressive, juridical, procedural, and collaborational frames revealed institutional practices mirroring how soc…
