The quality of life of residents of a satellite degraded city district as part of urban development policy

The purpose of this article is to assess the quality of life of the residents of a degraded satellite area of a city. It is considered in the context of urban development policy – as the result of decisions and as a challenge for long-term development. The research was based on a case study, which is the district of Opole referred to as Metalchem. It is characterized by an isolated location in the city structure as well as economic transformations. The study was based primarily on an analysis of source materials and results of a survey. The results show that the assessment of the quality of life is inconsistent. a b s t r a c t Genetic algorithms (GAs) are appropriate when investors have the objective of obtaining mean-variance (VaR) efficient frontier as minimising VaR leads to non-convex and non-differential risk-return optimisation problems. However GAs are a time-consuming optimisation technique. In this paper, we propose to use a naive approach consisting of using samples split by quartile of risk to obtain complete efficient frontiers in a reasonable computation time. Our results show that using reduced problems which only consider a quartile of the assets allow us to explore the efficient frontier for a large range of risk values. Carbonyl compounds of Rh, Ir, and Mt: electronic structure, bonding and volatility

With the aim to render assistance to future experiments on the production and investigation of chemical properties of carbonyl compounds of element 109, Mt, calculations of the molecular properties of M(CO)4 and MH(CO)4, where M = Rh, Ir, and Mt, and of the products of their decomposition, M(CO)3 and MH(CO)3, were performed using relativistic Density Functional Theory and Coupled-Cluster methods implemented in the ADF, ReSpect and DIRAC software suites. According to the results, MH(CO)4 should be formed at experimental conditions from the M atom with a mixture of CO and He gases. Abstract We show that the toroidal Lie group G = ℂ2/Λ, where Λ is the lattice generated by (1, 0), (0, 1) and (τ̂, τ͂), with τ̂ ∉ ℝ, is isomorphic to the generalized Jacobian JL of the complex elliptic curve C with modulus τ̂, defined by any divisor class L ≡ (M) + (N) of C fulfilling M − N = [℘ (τ͂) : ℘´(τ͂) : 1] ∈ C. This follows from an apparently new relation between the Weierstrass sigma and elliptic functions.

Background Dietary acrylamide is found in certain foods, such as deep frying, baking and roasting, and is associated with higher inflammatory and oxidative stress parameters. The association between dietary acrylamide and physical performance has not yet been explored.
